Paperchain
Rocks

counting down the days until Paul's home with a paper chain.

remembering that the come home date is more likely than not, inaccurate.

collecting beach rocks.

considering getting to yoga once a week an achievement.

hoping to attend CHA in Anaheim at the end of the month.

ordering new business cards for the occasion.

celebrating the fact that there is a much bigger plan than mine in the works.

enjoying printing photos and stashing away bits of paper for Project Life.

struggling with loneliness.

choosing to be productive today.

can you do a post again about your daily planner? I ordered one like yours and am so psyched to get it! I am a planner and journal addict.
I would love to see your planner in use. More about what pen you use, how you use it, when you carry it with you, what categories you use to write in it, etc.
    Thank you so much!

I love your “currently” posts- they always make me want to be productive 🙂
Do you ever print photos smaller than 4×6? Like 3×4 for the Project Life slots? If so I’d love to hear any advice because I currently get mine printed at Target, but I’d love to be able to print at home. I just haven’t had the patience to figure it out. (I’d love to print 2×3 and 3×4 pictures on 4×6 or larger paper.)

“celebrating the fact that there is a much bigger plan than mine in the works.” My husband just got rejected from a PhD program he really wanted to attend. This is a thought that’s been a big comfort to us lately.

Productivity conquers loneliness almost every time. (Cute paper chain too!)

Ali Edwards recently had a great video tutorial on printing two 3×4 photos side by side on 4×6 paper. Check that out on aliedwards.com. I do something very similar to print at home.

I am glad you are excited! I love my planner. I probably will not do a full post because I dont have too much to say. I use ball point pens so they dont show through and usually keep it at home on my desk. I use each page for daily todo lists and carry just one month with me when I travel. 🙂 have fun with yours!

I I really like your idea of counting down the days until Paul’s return with this paper chain. The nice part about that is that if the day is inaccurate, you can keep adding links.
I struggle with loneliness too. It’s nice to have crafts when the world feels a bit colder.

such a great idea about the chain! i have too many deployment days left to do that for Dave. But I’ve been trying not to focus on that by writing goals and smartly planning spring clothing pieces to buy for when he comes back and takes me out for dinners 🙂 scored a great dress at Anthro for 50% off!

I’ve been struggling with loneliness a lot too and I hope the time flies until Paul comes to you!

Elise, I just wanted to say that my heart goes out to you as Paul is away. My husband started traveling for business this year and, though I’m fortunate enough to have him home every few weeks, I literally cry like a baby when he leaves. Then I’m reminded of how long you two have to be apart thanks to the sacrifice you’re both making for our country, and I’m humbled, dry off my tears, and try to get through the day. So, thanks for your blog, your honesty, your sacrifice, and your spirit. Sending good vibes your way 🙂

Thanks Elise! One more question about the planner and then I will stop LOL—do you keep your grocery list in it or on a separate paper? Just wondering if you take it with you when you do errands.

nope, I keep the grocery list on a pad on the fridge so I can write things down when I notice we are out. 🙂

I’m really sorry about the lonliness Elise. When I first got married hubby was in the navy & was always off for months too. I hope those chains fall quickly. From the way January is dissapearing before my eyes I’m sure he will be back before you know it! Hang in there, you are doing amazing!!!
