I ended up documenting this season pretty well, but my updates were certainly not done daily. I actually sat down and worked on this book four times which made the journaling a bit…random. No worries, though, it's complete. It will join my other Christmas books (here's 2009 & 2010) and be stored with my decorations until next year. Which, with Paul scheduled to be home, holds so much more magic than this year.

    You may have already mentioned this in previous post(s), and if so I am sorry. But I was curious….what do you print or attach your photos to in your mini books? They always look sturdy and I have yet to figure out a way to achieve that.

    Hmm, I think you mean what goes against the back of the photos? Nothing… I just use cardstock generally. There are a lot of videos linked at the bottom of this post : http://eliseblaha.typepad.com/golden/everything-summer-minibook-related.html that talk about how I make these sort of books.     This book is really, really awesome. Can you tell me how you made the three ribbons on the December 14th page? Are they cardstock you printed on and then just cut out to look like banners?

    That’s just the graphic from our holiday card. I designed it in PSE, had it printed by overnightprints.com. I just punched holes in the card and added it to the book. 🙂

    I simply love your mini books! I have had so much fun reading your blog (I just discovered it a little while back and am SO glad I did!) What do you do with your mini books when you’re done with them? Do you have them displayed on a bookshelf if your house, or all together in a designated area somewhere? Do you find yourself looking back at them often? I would love to start creating some of my own, but I already have limited space to store things in our humbly-sized home 🙂 Thanks for the inspiration!

    hey! thank you!! I store most of them in baskets. My favorites are displayed in our bookshelf and the others are in my office. I do not look at them very often, but when I do I always think I should spend more time going through them. 🙂

    love your minibooks! I am new to bookmaking and don’t know many tricks of the trade. THis may seem silly, but how do you get your pages stiff? Do you mount them on chipboard or print them from the computer on chipboard???

    The cardstock I use in my books is pretty sturdy so that helps a lot! I do not mount to chipboard, just use tape runner to hold things back to back. 🙂
