Class

As mentioned, I taught a minibook workshop at Teahouse Studio last weekend. It was an honor to be asked to teach this class and then an adventure prepping for it. I was awkwardly nervous the first hour or so, but by the end of it, had settled in. Our theme for day one was "Don't be shy." And day two's was "Enjoy the process."

I love how the photos above show a table filled to the brim with crafting supplies and coffee mugs. The table was packed and the 14 class hours were busy. We played with binding methods, learned how to use sewing machines, built books and talked and talked and talked. About minibooks, of course, but also about blogging, weddings, relationships, kids, jobs & making friends. It was creative and crafty and therapeutic. And seriously, such an pleasure.

Teahouse Studio is an amazing place and the ladies that took my class were so sweet and filled with good ideas. By the end of it, I really felt like I had made new friends. And last I checked, the more crafty friends you have, the better. It was a quiet reminder to get out from behind my computer screen more often.

Thank you Teahouse and thank you Jen, Holly, Mere, Ashley, Mer, Tiffany & Karen.

Except for the first two and the last one, all photos were taken by Stefanie Renee. She's awesome.

Oh how I want you to sell your mini book workbook in your etsy shop. I wish you would come back to Louisiana and teach a workshop. 😉

that was definitely the original plan, but I realized it works in conjunction with lecture, not as a stand alone workbook. Maybe its something that I can tweak! 🙂

I’m so bummed. I live in Berkeley and wanted so badly to attend but I had an event that weekend that I couldn’t miss. Hoping you’ll make it back to teach this again some time soon?

I know you closed the comments on your most recent post, but I did want to say a couple of things, so I thought I’d comment here. Hope that’s okay(:
I just wanted to say that although I’m not commenting often (or to be more precise – I haven’t commented since probably March or April haha), I am definitely reading along! I have just finished my second year of university here in Sydney, Australia and so I have just hopped back on the blogging scene. I am enjoying your posts and think that you are awesome – I love your creativity and style of making ‘n’ creating! So thank you for the inspiration 😀

i wanted to let you know that i have been reading your blog for about two years and i have never been more PROUD OF YOU. you don’t know me at all, but i am so proud of the person you are growing to be. you sound so much more thoughtful, compassionate, kind, creative, and organized than you did when i first started reading your blog. (not that you were bad before! i loved your blog then, too!) i am so amazed with all you have accomplished in the past 150 days. you have inspired this 38-year-old stay-at-home mom of three to be brave and achieve. THANK YOU!

hold your head high….its all about your journey….and being there to the best of your ability along the way
and if one of your readers has a negative comment…send them to me…..!!!!
