Welcome to the "new" blog!

If you click through you'll see it's changed – but really it's not too different! It was important to me to keep things simple and very easy to navigate. And the sidebars & banner were always pretty photo focused and I enjoyed that aspect so they remained, just became more current.

But I did make some upgrades – for example, if you hover your mouse over the navigation bar up top or on the left sidebar links, you'll see the image change. (I was over the top excited to get this small adjustment working correctly.) And I created a new about page, updated my FAQs and perhaps most exciting : I created a tutorials shortcut page. That's right – all the tutorials I shared here are now easy to find and can be accessed through the navigation bar.

I hope you like the upgrade. I do. It still feels like me, just a bit fancier. Thank you, as always, for reading.

EDIT : Thanks so much for the encourangement so far. If things are looking wonky – I'm sorry. Please try a hard refresh (COMMAND + SHIFT + R) on a mac (Ctrl + F5) on PC. If you are seeing oddly spaced letters in the body of the posts, it's a problem with Internet Explorer and should not be happening. I have a call out to typepad to get it fixed but you can also upgrade to the newest version (IE9) and it will look normal. Thank you!!

And I still have big plans for my website (including a self-hosted web store) but those changes will be happening in September.

    I had the same issues as you, Amanda – but after emptying the Cache and reloading the page, it looked like it does in the screenshot above. I was a bit surprised though, too 🙂

    i love it! great job! I know it’s hard work to make all these changes and “going live” is nerve wracking!
    Your new about page is great! you are so good to take the time to explain what you do & who you are.
    very very nice! ps i love the new hair cut… i’m growing mine out from being a similar cut because i’m getting married and want my hair long… but i already miss the short hair!

    First, I wanted to say that I love reading your blog. The crafty ideas, food recipes, favorite things- it’s all great! However, the new blog seems very jumbled with pictures on posts, and overtaking the sides of the screen. Also, with an all caps font, it’s very difficult to read. If you could change this, it would make reading the posts easier on the eyes. Thanks.

    Hey Elise! LOVE the new site! Great job- the pics you had taken add a great new touch! Be Proud! 🙂
    One heads up for you JUST so you are aware, when i view in Mozilla = Perfection. In Safari, the ‘elsewhere column’ is getting cropped on the right hand side so you can only see the beginning of things like WEB/ or TWITT then it gets cropped. Maybe my browser is just being wonky! I would attach a screenshot if i could! Hate to send criticism, but just wanted to let you know 🙂 xox

    Hi Elise….nice job on the new blog…two things I noticed (offered as constructive), the all CAPS is very hard to ready for long posts and I don’t see a “home” after I have visited some of the other features…I have to back up. Other than that – awesome!!!

    hi Kathy, no, not negative – just confusing … what capital letters? On the sidebars? There are not paragraphs of capital letters anywhere so I am a bit confused. Maybe try refreshing your browser? Please let me know what you mean.

     hi Ashley, Ive gotten a few comments on the all caps, and I am not sure if its just displaying differently for some people. Where are the capital letters you are talking about? I would never want the posts or the sidebar paragraphs to be in caps. Maybe try a refresh on your browser?

    And I think what Kathy means is all the text in the main column is in all caps, both your post text and the comments – I see it too. I’m using Internet Explorer on a PC if that helps you?

    hi Amanda! Thank you for letting me know!! I think it might be an IE problem that hopefully will be sorted out if you upgrade to the newest IE version. I am so sorry about this and hope it starts looking normal for you.

    Love the new design! However, and I hope this won’t upset you, I find the font you’re using for your posts hard to read. It’s the all capital letters. I think that’s what Kathy meant in her comment.

    it’s Safari Version 5.0.5, no refresh needed
    I have checked it in my office and it looked perfect (there I have explorer something), but all letters were capital?!

    love the new tutorials page! would you consider linking the images to the tutorials too instead of just the text links? i keep clicking on the photos and have to use the browser’s “back” button to get back to your site.

    hi Julia – yeah the all caps is NOT meant to be there. I think it might be a problem with IE. You can try refreshing your browser, clearing your cashe or upgrading to the newest version of internet explorer (IE9) please let me know if any of these things help! Thank you! elise

If you are still getting caps, you might want to try a hard refresh (cntrl + f5) or upgrading to the newest version of IE which is IE9. I really hope that helps.     hi Jose. Thank you! the font is a bug with Internet Explorer and should not look like that!! Please try upgrading to IE9 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/products/ie/home or view it with another browser and you should be good to go. 🙂 elise
