BAD NEWS : Their original vacation was unexpectedly cut short because he needed to attend some extra training prior to deployment.
GOOD NEWS : He weekend time to spare.
GREAT NEWS : She had some Southwest credit to spend on a flight.
BEST NEWS : They made their own unexpected change of plans and are meeting up in a city they've never seen.

I go to school in New Orleans so just a couple of my favorite spots: Café du Monde’s beignets, Creole Creamery if you make it to Uptown, shopping on Magazine Street, walking/taking the streetcar along St. Charles to admire the beautiful homes, and Preservation Hall & the Palm Court for some fantastic jazz music (plus there is a 99 year old trumpet player at the Palm Court which is super cute/inspiring!) Enjoy your trip!

How romantic! Have fun! New Orleans is a really fun city – the humidity is overwhelming – but you can walk around with drinks, which I think makes it worth it!
