Right now, my plan is to make a minibook focused just on this Palm Springs / Desert trip once I am back with all my supplies and have all my photos printed. It's going to be a monster, similar to our honeymoon album. But maybe styled different. Not sure. Jury is out.

Either way, I am also documenting this trip in my summer book on a "in the moment" format.

Before we left on Monday, I added some photos from the weekend. These grid pages are obviously a big favorite. They are such an easy way to incorporate a bunch of images and still look organized. That little tag just says what we did over the weekend in list form.

And then the "on the road" pages. As you can see, lots of shape clips. I forgot my stapler so they are working for now. When I get home I might staple some things in place. That last "page" is made of two polaroids back to back. They are held together with clips which are then hooked through the book rings. My journaling while traveling tends to be a verbal dump of everything we did each day. Nothing special.

I'm not sure if I'll add more photos to this when I get home or just keep it as is.

Questions? Holler in the comments. Still need a summer book? Get one here. Want to see more of this album? Go here. Are you working on your own summer book? Add photos to the flickr group!

How fun. And I still can’t believe you are blogging/working so much while on vacation. I’m sure we are loving it but do you still feel like you are relaxing? I hope so!

ha! Yes! Blogging and crafting is the best part. Worrying about shipping product and responding to emails is the part I gave myself a break from. 🙂

Totally crazy question, but at your convenience, can you tell me the type of pen/marker you used on the ‘every hour is happy hour’ page? It has just the type of flow i am looking for.

I’m always inspired by your mini book posts to pull mine out & get working on it. Where is the tag from on your weekend photos page?
    Thanks!

I think I got it on etsy. Search mini shipping tags or similar for lots of options!

Are you still in Palm Springs? You have to eat at Cheeky’s…it’s SO GOOD! And if you like it, all I ask is that you find out what the dressing is for the fig, prosciutto & mache appetizer was…that salad is haunting me and that’s the only ingredient I need to recreate it at home! 🙂

I print at home. There is a video in this post : http://eliseblaha.typepad.com/golden/2011/05/summer-minibook-update-4.html that talks more about how I create the photo grids.

Hi Elise, Your pictures are so vivid! What printer do you use? I have a great Canon camera but am looking to invest in a good photo printer. Thanks!
Also, just bought your summer mini book on Etsy and can’t wait to start 🙂
