oh. man.
I am having a hard time moving this morning. Yesterday, I took my first Bar Method class on the recommendation of a few of my college girlfriends, who despite being scattered across the country are all hooked on this workout
I knew it was going to be hard.
I knew the point of the class was to work your muscles to the point that they shake.
But – DUDE.
At least three times during the hour I had to fight back tears.
It was that intense.
So, like a crazy person, I paid another $90 for unlimited classes over the next 30 days. If there is one thing I have learned from this half marathon training it's that you have to shake it up to see results. Also known as "If you want something you've never had before, you have to do something you've never done before."*
This is what I do know : I spent seven years pounding out 25 minutes on a treadmill a couple times a week. And my body never changed and excercising never got easier. Then last year, I started tracking runs everything shifted. These past few months, since I have started training and pushing myself to run further, my mental and physical shape has improved so much more than I thought it could.
So my goal with this new class is to push that comfort zone further while streghening and toning all those muscles that work so hard to keep me going. Although, given how difficult simply moving is this morning I'm not really sure how I'm going to get running + Bar Method in sync.
I'll report back in 30 days.
