Just read your post from yesterday. I could be wrong here and maybe I misunderstood, but here goes – I feel the need to be blunt. Although you hate the thought of being lumped into a group just because of your husband’s job, I hope someday you will appreciate the support that these wives (and husbands) can and will offer. They have been where you are. They share your fears and anxieties. They are more than willing to lend a helping hand or listening ear. You are a part of a very special group of American citizens. I have seen their incredible work in action as they have saved my sister’s hide many times as she has “sent” her Navy husband abroad on assignment. Maybe you could give them another shot. I’m pretty sure you’re gonna need them and much as they need you and your incredible talents. Thanks for listening. Andrea (sister of a very scared, yet very proud Navy wife.)

…and thanks to you to share all of this.
Your post and all the comments were really humbling to read, especially for someone who has no contact with the military world. I had to reach for the tissue box a few times, actually. I felt I learned a little about a path of life different from mine, and I’m grateful for it.LikeLike

hi Andrea, I do appreciate the support that these wives, husbands and military overall can offer. Immensely. I am so grateful that there are groups that exist to help people from feeling alone. At the moment, I feel far from alone. I am supported from many angles and it will be interesting to see how and if things change or what sort of support I need in the coming months (and years). I have not written off these groups though – I didnt mean for the post to read that way.
