40loaves

Bread no. 8 : beer bread

Adjustments : I substituted 1/2 C of white flour with wheat. Always looking to get more wheat.

Notes : DUDE. I have never had beer bread before and stumbled on a recipe for some on Pinterest. Wanting to find a few more recipes I searched for "beer bread" within Pinterest. A plethora of photos came up with links to recipes. It was a perfectly edited search and I'll be trying it again for other things.

Review : I am willing to say this is the best bread yet. Super easy to make because there is no rise time and you can quickly mix by hand. We used Dogfish Head Midas Touch beer and it was perfect. You can definitely taste the beer, so keep that in mind. We made pulled pork for dinner the other night and this was perfect sandwich bread to go with.

We vary the type of beer we use depending on what we’re serving the bread with. On St. Patrick’s day, we usually use Harp and put a tiny bit of Irish cheddar on the top before baking it. A slice of the bread is great with leftover corned beef hash the next morning.

I’ve never eaten or made beer bread, but I’d really like to. We have some wonderful beers from Quebec in our fridge that I bet would be perfect for this. Thanks.

I love beer bread. My mom makes it and cuts it into cubes and serves it with spinach dip. So good.
