This is the sign that greets you at our favorite Mexican food place.

That right there should be enough to convince you of it's awesomeness.

Okay, well did the food photos get you?

This restaurant is close-ish to our place, but we never knew about it until our car was in the shop and Hertz guy drove us by it (you know, because they pick you up) and told us to check it out. Like the lemmings we are, we went the next night. And then the next three Friday's after that.

It's a favorite for sure. Oh, but if you go, don't sit outside unless you want to hear airplanes roaring overhead every three and a half minutes.

And also? This is what April 1st looks like in San Diego. And that is the number one reason why I will be kicking and screaming when we have to move out of Southern California some day.

And last thing – I realized that I need to start using my point and shoot camera again. From that little baby I get all the best "on the go" photos. And "on the go" is where memories are made. (Don't tell Disney.)

    that sign is amazing!
and i have been thinking the same regarding my point-and-shoot… since getting my rebel last summer, i either take it with me or no camera at all. and it’s large, so the no-camera-at-all situations are getting more frequent: that’s not okay!

I couldn’t agree more about your point and shoot camera realization fact. I always go back and forth when I’m only going to use my DSLR or my P&S and really, I need to use both! Thanks for the reminder. I also always admired that you were totally ok with just using your P&S. They are so convenient and take wonderful photos which will encourage many to be happy with just that.
    Happy SPRING 🙂

I’m a big fan of El Camino -only I prefer the south park location (I also lived up the street from the one you posted about here) – they have a fabulous half-price taco tuesday deal that my friends and I used to go to every week. Yum! Although, I think El Zarape or El Indio beats El Camino if you’re just going on taste alone…

We have a Mexican restaurant in our town that we go to ALL the time. They just have the best atmosphere!
I agree with everyone– thanks for the reminder to use the point and shoot! I’m a “camera snob” but I for sure take more pictures with my P&S.
I like the blogging on the weekend as well!!

Yey! My husband is going to be on a month long work rotation to San Diego from mid-July (we live in Belgium now) so of course I am coming with him… from now on every food recommendation you make is being saved in a brand new San Diego bookmarks folder 🙂

That food looks too good! I am hugely jealous because it is so hard to get decent Mexican in the UK.
I also need that ‘Hola’ sign in my life

That food makes me sad…can’t find good Mexican in Vancouver. I can find “passable” but not “good.” Can’t wait to get to San Diego this summer to eat so much of it!

So totally kicking myself right now for taking a technology break and not reading your blog while I was on vacation. In san Diego. Got into town april 1 and just left yesterday the 8th. This place sounds-and looks-delicious! Thanks to one of your earlier posts I did visit the flower fields-totally gorgeous. Thanks for sharing your life.

You have to try La Playa Taco Shop. Best carnitas I have ever eaten! I have to go there every time I am in San Diego. I will have to check out this place next time I am in town!

They did get me! Oh, I’m craving for nachos right now! it made me miss my two girlfriends and our Mexican delight! My “Quesadillas Friends” are now having the time of their life, which also signifies that I should have mine too. But as long as I keep my routine of digging on Mexican foods once in awhile, I’ll never feel lonely as the practice makes me feel so close to my pretty ladies. =)
