My parents were in town this past weekend. On Sunday, we drove up to Carlsbad to see the flower fields. For some reason I thought we’d be looking at tulips. I was thrilled to find ranunculus instead. We were a bit early in the season and only one field had pretty blooms peeking through. I am hoping to go back with Paul in the next few weeks to see all the fields awash with color. In the meantime though, here is what was growing at our early visit.

That last one is my favorite. I think orange is going to be my favorite color for the rest of my life. It’s because of the wedding, I’m sure.

Beautiful! In the midwest, we’re only dreaming of spring right now. That’s not a scene you see in Indiana in March, that’s for sure ~ thanks for sharing!

Love this share, Elise. Ranunculus are my favorite flower, hands down. I think a visit here has to go on my bucket list 🙂 More snow predicted this week for Minnesota. . . maybe Trader Joe’s has ranunculus out for sale now. . .

I used to live near the flower fields in Carlsbad, such a great Spring treat! There used to be a place around the corner from there where you could pick your own strawberries…that’s pretty fun too! Don’t know if it is still there, I haven’t lived there for a few years. Thanks for the photos, they reminded me of my hometown today!

Lovely color! Sigh. Like Jill, I’m also from MN and I’m so sick of winter! I need this color to come back very soon. I also love the last shot. You should put it in your shop. 🙂 Thanks for the pretty images!

We didnt see the self-pick strawberry fields, but there was a fruit stand selling huge strawberries and we bought a bunch. So good.

hi! I am going to make that last one as a for sale print, so I have made it impossible to click to enlarge but you should be able to right click to make it your desktop background. As for the iPhone, I think if you go to my blog in Safari, you will be able to save it as your backdrop. Hope that helps! elise

If you want Tulips, you need to come to Western Washington in April! There are daffodils too!
