Oh man, I have been all over the place with a plan for our new duvet cover/quilt. I found an image in Handmade Living of a mismatched fabric duvet cover and I haven't stopped thinking about it. So that is what we're going with. Finally, last week I took the plunge and bought fabric from fabric.com. It arrived yesterday and I have already washed, cut and started to sew long strips of squares. Check back later this afternoon for an update. It's going to be totally imperfect – but I am loving how the patterns and colors are looking together.

Fabric from left to right : Michael Miller (MM) Summer Soiree Chevron Yellow/White, MM Ta Dot Stone, MM Quarter Dot Grey, MM Two by Two Stripe Sunny, Premium Broadcloth Silver, Moda City Weekend Urban Grid Downtown Turquoise & Amy Butler Sun Spots.

Cannot wait to see how this turns out, those fabrics look really great together. I’m amazed that you’re attempting to make your own duvet cover, it sounds so intimidating but I bet you’ll really enjoy it.

The colors on the MM stripe were a little off. But other than that, spot on. You could also google the same fabrics and see what comes up on etsy or google images to get a true idea of what the color will be.

Love how they look, and thought it’s too funny that after admoring your choices and then reading who the designer(s) are, realized that I have been SO drawn to Michael Miller fabrics in the last few months! 🙂

I just ordered my fabric to make this as a baby boy quilt for my cousin’s shower. I found most of the fabrics still available at fabric.com. I got free shipping on my order over $35. My total was $35.81. yay me! I also used coupon code “second” and got $5 off my order, for a new total of $30.81 for 5 yards. I might also mention I went through ebates.com and got 4% back! I have been studying this quilt at random times. I’m so excited to get started on this.
