HEY-YO. Happy Monday? We had a blast in Disneyland this past weekend and now it's my favorite part of vacationing – getting back into the routine. (No joke.) I have a list of things I want to get done this week including lots of outdoor runs and a big chunk of the blog design workshop worked out. I'll be sharing Disneyland mini Diana photos, a new fabric craft project and hopefully a new minibook later this week. But in the meantime, I thought I'd share my most recent attempt in my mission to get through my washi tape stash.

A super simple birthday card. I cut a piece of cardstock down to about 4×5.25" and wrapped various pieces of washi tape around it to make an overlapping stripe pattern. Next, I added a label (which was a mess up from a custom project) with our handwritten birthday wish and mounted the whole thing onto an A2 scallop card. I'm a bit obsessed with this size card and scallops especially. (evidence here.)

Again, super simple & bright and cheery. And a perfect way to get washi tape out the door and enjoyed.

Lovely. That orange stripe makes the card! I’d love it if you post more washi ideas as you make them. Your original goal spurred me to finally buy some washi tape, and I’m determined to USE IT without rationing.

Where do you buy washi tape? Do you get it online? or locally? I’m having a hard time finding variety…

How cute! Another great use for the tape I’ve seen is in constructing envelopes. Instead of using adhesive, use the tape. It’s really adorable when you make an envelope out of something semi-transparent like vellum. Then the pattern or color of the tape really stands out!

Nice card! I love the idea of using up your stash instead of just stashing it. I’m happy because I was able to find an on-line vendor selling the Martha Stewart Scandinavian Christmas tape that I was crushing on after seeing it here. Just arrived last week so it’ll be a while before I use it but it will be nice to pull it out next Christmas!

Love this idea. I have quite a bit of washi tape to use up too. Did you sew around the edges?

Truly sunny colours! Maybe it could work with pieces of fabrics as well – can’t remember the english word – but you know like strings but wider (and made of fabric).
