It's possbile that cloth napkins are the easiest thing to sew. Cut out square. Fold in sides. Sew four straight lines. The end.

Love the color mix.

I’m wanting to switch to fabric napkins, but to have the number I need to get through a week… The cost just kills me every time I think to switch. And so I don’t. But this… THIS is do-able. Not only doable, but cheaper! Thanks so much for sharing, Elise!

I registered for a ton of cloth napkins for our wedding because I knew I wanted to go paper free. I love it. They dress up simple dinners. When its just the two of us (no guests), we reuse them for a few meals as long as they dont get super dirty. Works well. Have fun making some!

This is why I love you…I would never have thought to make napkins. Do you have a use a certain type of fabric? Those would make a great hostess gift as well!

I have made them with light cotton, but these are thicker … sort of like light canvas.

Are you squaring off your corners or making a triangle and folding the edges in? Just curious – I’m a pretty vetern seamstress (since I was 4!) and I always wonder how those newer to the craft do their projects.

Good idea. Been thinking about doing this too. Ikea sounds like a great place to buy the fabric too.
