GOODintentions

I'm pretty sure that for the rest of my life the start of September will feel like a new beginning.

It means new shoes. Doodle-free notebooks. A scuff free backpack. A clean desktop. Organized notes. Good handwriting.

Somewhere around Halloween everything falls apart, but in those first few weeks it feels like you'll be able to keep up with all your good intentions for the rest of the year.

We're super low on fall weather around here (which is excellent by me) but I'm all about using the good intentions.

The fresh start. The clean desk. The good attitude.

Today is day three of my online workshop and I am feeling more on top of it than under it, if you know what I mean. It's working (at least it seems that way) and that is always a relief. I can see the light at the end of the lesson-planning and sample-making tunnel which means I am starting to entertain ideas for the next big project.

I would love to re-brand and re-vamp my shop. Change up how I package things. Order new business cards. Become "elise joy" instead of "enjoy design". Make more stuff. I'm getting close (well, in the vicinity) to 2000 items sold and I want to celebrate that with a sale of some kind.

Oh, new starts.

Oh, big ideas.

Oh, September.

I welcome you with open (but bare) arms.

I’m having a fresh start as well, although mine will be in a few days, with the Jewish new year.

September will always feel that way to me, too! I never make New Year’s Resolutions, because January through March or April is a crazy time in my worklife, so I finally stopped sabotaging my best intentions by making grand plans on Dec. 31st. But my birthday in June and “start of school time” in September (even though that happens in August in these parts now) get me reorganized and rejuvenated every year. And I love it, even if it only lasts for a few weeks, as you said.

I love the “fresh start” feeling as well.
Here’s a cute fall story: My daughter started her first day of her senior year in college yesterday and she had someone take a picture of her for my “first day of school” collection. Oh for cute!

I feel the same way about September. And lol about the Halloween time line.
On Sept 1st 9 years ago my hubby and I said “I do” to each other so there is one more reason for celebrating new beginnings for us 🙂
I’m LOVING your class, Elise!! You are amazing!

It’s one of the reasons I’m a big September fan (that and the changing colors and friendly temperatures)

I love September for these same reasons. Also, I just wanted to say your minibook projects have inspired me to design my first… photos are on their way from Snapfish, and I can’t wait to get started!

oh yes September! Excellent post Elise! Your workshop IS going great and adding some new inspiration for hopefully getting some of my stuff into some local holiday bazaars this year! Oh, and a fresh start with re-vamped workouts and an upcoming maiden voyage to PAPER SOURCE!! There’s only one in WA so I’m making a day of it: lunch and wine at Cali Pizza Kitchen then a stroll around the block to PS! Can’t wait! I also really liked your fall post last year; about the start of school.

i am so bummed that i missed out on the mini workshop. i’ve been offline for about 2 months, what with the move, house purchase/remodel and new job. super excited to get back online and connected with everything, but a little sad to see all the things i’ve missed.
and i know how you feel about september. we’ve had blazing heat all summer, and on september 1, it finally felt like fall. a new start indeed 🙂

I think that fresh start goes back to starting school. Every year I feel like September 1 is January 1, in some respects.
    Happy fall:)
