Newhome
Bedroom

It’s very likely that we’ll be moving again next June (military + medicine = a lot of moves) so I should probably get started on decorating our bedroom. Otherwise, I might as well begin focusing on our next place.

The dresser with fancy knobs we have. The side table we have. The love sign we have. We have a framed wedding photo and a canvas with an engagement photo already on the walls. And our curtains our teal + white.

I have a Bora Bora polaroid that I want to have blown up huge (like 20×20 or bigger) and framed to hang over the dresser. Has anyone ever blown up a polaroid photo? Any tips? I know it would get pretty grainy, but that is sort of what I am going for.

I really want a white and gray striped duvet cover but I haven’t found anything quite right (this is fantastic, but out of our price range). But I’m hoping to sew something together this month.

And I think we need that hanging lamp (or maybe this one). Right now, it’s pretty dark in there.

Time to get moving, elise.

links : lamp, love sign, side table, flower knob, dresser, bedding is an old image from Ikea that I recolored a haphazardly.

Try sewing two flat sheets together for an inexpensive duvet cover.

I love the duvet cover, but I agree that it’s too expensive. I just sewed two sets of striped curtains for our guest room (the duvet cover reminded me of them.) I found the fabric at Hancock Fabrics – I’m not sure if you have one near you, or could find the fabric online. Sewing it yourself is definitely the way to go, though. 🙂

    Try looking into Düe bedding.
They’re based out of California and have a clean look.

I did an internship here and they’re based out of MA but it’ll give you an idea of their products and if it’s something you want to look into more.
    hope this helps a little!

love the polariod idea as well! you should ask your local film developer for tips. if you really care about quality + don’t want to DIY it (hard to imagine!) take it somewhere like icon (http://www.iconla.com/).
that’s so crazy you have the same ikea dresser as my friend, caitlin, who i just told to get fun knobs for it!
mirrors will help reflect the light + make the room seem brighter!

I’ve had my eye on these sheets and put them in my cart like 5x already… they’d be perfect to turn into a duvet for your bed! http://www.westelm.com/products/stripe-print-sheet-set-b500/?pkey=csheet-sets

I am constantly inspired by your light airy color schemes! we are so neutral=brown here & I originally loved it all.. but am tired of it but don’t know how to change it inexpensively. hoping one day something you do or say or type will kick my butt into gear 🙂

I love your ideas for your room, very chic :). For your poloroid, maybe try http://www.winkflash.com. I have used that site a lot and blown up a few prints. N
I have not blown up a poloroid, but I am pleases with the quality, plus prints are not too expensive.

i have blown up polaroids before. like you said, they do get grainy, but if you have a good quality scanner, you can make it so that it’s not too grainy. a good printer can print a small portion so you’ll have an idea of how grainy it is. you can also scan an print it yourself to see what it might look like. it’s very artsy. it’s totally possible and it has the potential to be very beautiful if done properly! hope that helps.

someone posted links of your wedding pictures on weddingbee.com, so i found out you and i wore the same wedding dress! i love seeing other women having the best day of their life in the same dress 🙂 and, i also had my girls carry orange flowers, also ate at our own table and also tripped down the stairs after being pronounced married! anyway, your wedding looked so stunning, i’m glad you had a good time.
