Flowers

On Friday, I had my girls help with making boutonnieres. It was hilarious and much more successful then I anticipated. (Did anyone take photos?)

On Saturday, I had them making centerpieces. The hotel gave us a conference room for prep work and we piled in. I had already trimmed off the leaves so it was just a matter of chopping the stems and placing them in water. It was easy. SUPER EASY. So easy that I walked around the hotel bored for two hours after we were done.

This is a internet high five for anyone who wants to do their own flowers. Keep it simple. Organize your time. Smile when people think you're nuts. If you want to, you can totally do it.

Our vases were margarita cups from Crate & Barrel and the roses were from Costco. I had them delivered on Tuesday, and they looked lovely for the wedding on Saturday. We probably only had to throw out 15 out of 500. I hope to have more photos to share of the centerpieces on the tables as well as the bouquets soon.

(thank you, michelle for the action shots. xo.)

p.s. my heart headband is ban.do.

I’m doing my own fresh flowers too. Eeek! People keep telling me I’m crazy too, but I’m seriously just not that worried about it! I think it will be fine. If you can do it, I can! ❤

My aunt did my flowers for me… I mean, I would’ve been insane to try and do the flowers myself when my aunt used to be a florist. Really love those green goblets for the vases by the way. Wanted some myself! LOVE.

I’ve been reading/following your blog for such a long time and I’ve never left a comment before… I love how you share your stories before and after the wedding. Little peeks, just like we were all there. Thank you! I hope Paul and you have a very happy, long and healthy life together. And keep the photos and stories coming!

Phew, good news! I am planning on doing my own flowers and my dad is trying enthusiastically to talk me out of it but I’m pretty determined! I think we’re getting ours delivered the day before the wedding and I have super simple centrepieces planned so unless there is a floral disaster it should only take 2 hours max! So good to see someone else has done it successfully!

What color did you order for the Costco roses? Yours are perfect!! I am doing the same thing, and I want the same color! I am nervous I will order it and they will be the wrong color.
