Thanks for your sweet comments on my "she & he" post yesterday. Those words were supposed to accompany the photos in this post. But horrible weather this past week (by horrible I mean fifties, rainy and windy) meant that we weren't able to get these shots until last night.

I want to take an interesting photo of us every month and pair it with a few "she & he" thoughts. I use interesting loosely. The definition here is : "any photo that I'm not just holding the camera and pointing it at a mirror or back at us." This project is inspired by Tara, who is taking a photo of her family of six monthly and blogging about what going on in each of their lives.

I want to pair up the photos and the thoughts into a simple book. Probably a square Kolo album like this. April seems like as good of time as any to start. We officially become a family this month.

The ampersand is from Anthropologie. The fence is from our backyard. The smile on P's face is from who knows where. He was such a good and patient sport as I balanced the camera on a watering can.

PS : I think the word family can be used loosely too. This project would be fun to do with self portraits. Or photos of friends.

    this is so cute.
    Have you seen http://www.shuttercal.com?
I started one a few months ago (http://shuttercal.com/calendar/ohgoshem/)and it’s been great for documenting what I am doing (or not).
It might be a really cute way of documenting your first year? And it makes me take more pictures.

i’m so jealous that you have that ampersand — i wish i could add it to my collection! i actually have our last name spelled out in those same zinc letters, but didn’t snatch up the ampersand fast enough.

Just going on the record, here – just ’cause the wedding will be over does NOT mean you’re allowed to drop Wedding Wednesdays! Not until we’ve seen wedding and honeymoon photos and heard ALL.ABOUT.IT!!!
LOVE your He & She idea! Was thinking about you the other day (were your ears burning?!?) – was in Michael’s and bought (on sale!) 2 bling-y ampersands!
Already planning a page about he and me…

love the photos, but I kind of loved your post yesterday just on its own. Just saying — the writing and the thoughts behind it were so beautiful.
Many wishes for a happy happy celebration this month. And I’m with krys72599 . . .just because the wedding will have been held is no reason to dispense with wedding wednesdays!!
all best and ENJOY yourself! (you clearly have it so much more together and in such better perspective than I ever did, so it’s a little silly of me to say that, as if I’m offering good advice!)

I am enjoying watching all your wedding preparations! You have some wonderful projects! I am going to try this couple photo of the month because I realized I only have one photo of my husband and I alone together from all of 2009! We became a family of 4 last year, and there are lots of family pics and every variation of them except us! Hopefully this will allow me at least 12 for 2010.
    Best wishes!

A great project idea Elise and I speak for the whole gang at Kolo when I say we’re all honored that you plan to use a Kolo book. Thanks for the link here, too. We’d love to show off your project on Koloist.com if you’d like. Congrats on the pending nuptials! – Ugo
