This is our first big military move and my first chance to see just how little we, the movees, have to do. Yesterday our apartment was boxed up and today everything was loaded into a truck. Most of what we own will sit in storage until mid-May when we find a new place to live in San Diego. (In the meantime we are going to be crashing with our families in Sacramento, getting married, honeymooning in Bora Bora, and watching/participating in a med school graduation.)

It won't be boring.

And for the next two nights it's just me, P, a few bottles of wine and a wireless internet signal. I think that's all we'll need.

I always find moving to be physical exhausting and very stressful.
How nice that the military came in and helped out with the heavy lifting and packing- the not fun parts of moving.
Cheers to your new adventure, and new life back in CA.

Yes, the military does pack everything up and then you get to wonder what arrives in perfect condition and what does not at your next “home.” Unpacking is always interesting. When you live in military housing, you get to endure an inspection to see what you need to make cleaner, fix up, etc, which always keeps you on your toes, for sure. You have many exciting moments ahead of you that will serve as wonderful memories as you grow old together. Life is great, marriage is teamwork, and family life is precious.
    Congratulations.

you are going to love living in SD….wonderful weather! πŸ™‚ Also, I honeymooned in Bora Bora…it’s beautiful. Where are you staying? If you are not staying in an overwater bungalow…definitely upgrade at least for a night or two when you get there. It’s much cheaper and SO WORTH IT!

We were planning on going to Bora Bora this spring, but ending up changes plans because of a wedding that’s taking place (not my own). I look forward to reading about your experience in Bora Bora. It’s flipping gloreous looking. And I am so envious. Good for you!

I think it is sooooo awsome. I married my LOVEY and he’s in the military also. So far, the military has taken us to 5 places. And all 5moves we did it all. (my LOVEY actually did it all) because u get paid to move… I would one day like to take advantage of the military moving for us… But when that day will happen is a mystery to me. I hope you have a wonderful move, a wonderful wedding, and an amazing honeymoon. Hee hee I went to Whistler for my honeymoon. We LOVE the snow.
