FINAL STRETCH : How is it already Tuesday? We have a guy coming to look at the apartment today to see how much stuff we have that needs to be moved. He will then come back next Tuesday to pack us all up. Next Thursday all the boxes and furniture will be out the door and we'll spend Friday cleaning our hearts out to get our deposit back. I'm a little concerned about all the holes I put in the wall to hang pictures. That might have been worth the deposit though…

Between now and the big pack-up, we have some good friends to say good-bye to and my car to sell. It's going to be a busy eleven days.

FLOWERS : While in Minnesota my Mom and I visited with Colleen, our family friend and fantastic florist, again. She gave me more tips on how to get all the loose flowers we are ordering prepped for bouquets and centerpieces. She even provided help on making the boutonnieres myself. We had a couple practice rounds and I will be trying a few samples before the wedding to see what Paul thinks. If he says go, then we go. He's the one who will be wearing it, after all.

ARTIST VS. CRAFTSMAN : Also while we were with Colleen, we talked about the difference between an Artist and a Craftsman. I am so glad to have found a word that seems to fit much better than Artist. I like the idea of being "skilled in the techniques of art and craft." I like the thought of practicing and growing to become a Craftsman.

LIBERTY OF LONDON : Did you wander Target this weekend in search of fun patterns? I did and walked away with just a nightgown and a small set of journals. Overall, I was impressed with the new line though I think sticking it all in the same section would have made more sense than having to wander the store to see what was available. If we had a backyard I would be all over the watering can. As it is, I think I am going to pick up a pair of gardening gloves for the 500 flowers I have to turn into bouquets and centerpieces next month.

THIS WEEK : I have lots of shower photos and details to share tomorrow and some final thoughts on finishing up my job at Paper Source coming later in the week. It's feeling like spring around here (though not nearly as much as it was in Minnesota!) and that is exciting. Ready to roll.

Right? I felt the same way about the Liberty of London stuff, although it was kind of fun to wander the store playing I Spy.

i LOVEDDDDD the Liberty of London stuff! I feel sad because I know it’s going to be flying off the shelves and I’m not sure I’ll have time to get back with more money! haha The watering can COMPLETELY stole my heart! I picked it up and said to my fiancé “Babe! Look!” and he was like “What do you need with a watering can?” haha

What?! There was a watering can? I totally missed that! The gardening section is right near toys, so I kind of hurtled through there with a child yelling CAR! CAR! PaBEE! PAABEE! (whatever that means) I picked up a cute top, though. I’m not sure how much my store is carrying (I didn’t see any of the journals, but I looked).
Fairly certain that some of those dresses would look absolutely crazy on me. Fun patterns, yes. But ON me? Eh…I don’t know. Saw one or two that were lovely, but I really couldn’t try on anything with the little dude.

I kinda love the Liberty of London dish sets – particularly the pink one. If only we had Target here. Lol!

Love the Liberty line. I picked up a wallet with a clamshell clasp. I was a little annoyed that the women’s line was all poly (at least at my Target), but the little girl line was mostly cotton. I’d like some cotton, please! Need to check out the watering can 🙂

I like the word “craftsman” too. I think the word “artisan” is also another good option. 🙂
In terms of the holes, go to your local hardware store and pick up a tube of spackle, a putty knife and some matching paint. Fill the hole with spackle, smooth it down with the putty knife to get rid of excess, dry, sand down so it is even with a wall and then touch up with the paint. Hope that helps!

by the time i got to target, the selection was very picked over…and i agree. having it in one spot would have been ideal (especially when shopping with a 6year old) 🙂 i completely missed the journals. darn. (loved the bowls though!)

hey there, take a touch of craft paint and white tooth paste, of hte old fashioned paste variety and pop it into the holes, no one will notice a thing! unless of course you had huge difficulty finding the one keeper hole! it is a quick cheap fix that will get your deposit back!

oh and one more thing, use your finger, push the paint/paste combo into the hole and wipe away..it fills flat and flush and you do not need tools or sanding!

just a little secret tip. if you don’t have putty to fill in all the holes in the wall, use toothpaste. just make sure its the white paste kind and not the blue one with the stripes. something my dad taught me if I didn’t want to go out and get putty.

I just read your post about Liberty of London….I completely agree and posted a letter to Target on my blog yesterday about putting it all in one section too! And I bought the watering can and gardening gloves…at the second Target I went to on Monday searching for more Liberty of London! I have already used the watering can twice and it is being displayed proudly on my front porch. Posting pictures on my blog of it later this week!

as a lurker on your blog, I just had to surface to say that I’ve thought of myself as a craftsman for many years; whether it’s ’cause I doubt my own creative talents or consider “artist” to be more pretentious than I AM, I can’t say….. But I’m a craftsman and proud of it!! now returning to lurk mode………
