The weather we have been having is quite mild, but it definitely LOOKS like fall around here. I'm loving it. Loving the season change and the new energy that comes with it.

Paul comes home from his two month medical excursion late Friday night. Just in time to cook up chili and watch football on Halloween. I will be dressing up as myself. Only more excited. Paul will be dressing up as Jet Lagged.

I talked to my mom for a bit last night and she said "Elise, I am impressed with how happy you seem." Which is code for, "Elise, Dad and I are so surprised you have not called us every night crying about how you were rattling around the apartment all alone." I laughed, because she's right. I feel very content – not just alone in the apartment, but out here on this coast. Paul and I have made a little nest here. And as much as I want to get back to California some day, I know that if we get matched at a hospital here we'll be fine. Happy even.

It's such a relief to realize that.

Hooray for you and being happy where you are! 🙂 Having been a military wife for 9 years (I’m still a wife, we’re just out of the military now :)) I’ve learned the value of being happy where you are, no matter where that is. 🙂

good for you. i’m someone who has gone through that whole exciting and nerve-racking experience and i wasn’t happy at first where my then-fiance’ matched. it took a bit, and now that we’re done with residency, it’s absolutely where we needed to be. good for you to know that as long as you’re together, you’ll be fine. 🙂 good luck!! and LOVE the new header… 🙂

As like some of the other ladies, it’s definitely a plus to be good at adaptability. At first I wasn’t…but the more places I lived, the more I realized how much I liked living in new places. Now I get EXCITED to move + to explore a new place. It’s like an adventure. There’s good all around you no matter where you are as long as you look hard enough. 🙂
Happy mini-homecoming to you and P!

I feel the same way about getting back to CA. But after 3 traumas in 5.5 months brought me back (temporarily) to my hometown in WA State, I am finding new, little things to bring contentment and even excitement.
Great header… and great autumn pix!
