Website
Finally. That took longer than I thought it would. And like many projects, I got halfway into it and thought, "Is this right?" "Is this how I want it to look?" But now that every page is complete and I hope every link is linked, I am pretty happy with the new site.
Web2
I said earlier that I wanted something simple where I could store all of my on going projects, like workshop information, custom books, etc. I added a section about minibooks and a catalog of most of my collection. Right now, you can click each book to see the front cover. Eventually, I want each book to be listed in it's entirety so every page can be flipped through. I think  I need a little bit more HTML training though so I am not creating an entire web page per book page.

On the workshops page, I mentioned a new month long class I am developing for September called, The Visual Adventure. I am pretty excited for it and will be keeping you posted.

AND OF COURSE, a giveaway.

Please take a second to browse the site and check for bugs, broken links, spelling errors, grammar issues, wonky photos, etc. I have only checked it out in firefox and safari so it is probably upside down and backwards in internet explorer. If you see an error or two, leave them in the comments so I can make edits. If you don't want to check for issues and just want to win, you can just leave a comment with your favorite font. (I am currently a big fan of this one.) I will be choosing three winners at random tomorrow morning. One will get a handbound book (not custom, but still cool). One will get a mixed paper journal. And one will get an envelope full of letterpress + pretty paper.

Thank you! Happy Tuesday!

Love the new site! When I go into the “shop” page and then click the link to go to the shop, I get a page error.

I’m lovin’ the new website. It’s so classy! My favorite part is the mini book section, but I am also super pumped to hear more about this September class!
This is a font I have a feeling I will be using this summer: http://www.dafont.com/marcelle.font?nb_ppp=50

I didn’t see any problems with the site … looks very good to me!
My favorite font would be … my own (not bragging, I have horrible handwriting!) I finally downloaded Font Creator and made a font from my writing and my hubby’s so I can add our personal touches to my scrapbook layouts easily (with less spelling errors!) So, right now, that is my fav font (though Beautiful ES and Windsong are rather cool too!)

I don’t even have IE anymore on my computer, so I can’t help too much…but it looks good to me! 🙂 Can’t wait to see the new class – I’m sure it will be as fun as the last!
Oh! And my favorite font is Palatino Linotype. Even though I use so many decorative fonts, Palatino Linotype is always a classic 🙂

It looks wonderful! You are so talented. On the Shop page, “rythm” should be “rhythm.”
Seriously, I think the site really captures something fun, modern, and artistic. Bravo!

    hey elise!
i haven’t clicked all the way through yet, but had a really cool idea for your workshops section of the site.
what if you were to include a few testimonials from people who’ve taken your workshops in the past? nothing too infomercial-y, just a few words about what they liked best about the class.

I visited through IE – on your “I Love a Good Project” page, nothing came up except a blank page and some text (“Back to past projects”), but no link to return to the past projects.
I don’t have a favorite font, but I did want to say thanks for linking us to your explanation of letterpress (and your email about the same!). I was really interested in that, and it was a great read!

oh elise! how wonderful! I think there were some mini books in there that I had never seen before! haha I flipped through the site and didn’t see anything that needed immediate attention. Although, you did spell GRAMMAR wrong on THIS post. hahaha. :]
my favorite font is Helvetica. It’s simple and classic and independent. Good for any occasion i think. i love it. I want a mug with helvetica on it. ❤

love the look of it! i’m in firefox, so i don’t see anything wrong with it – i guess that means i’ll have to tell you my favorite font!
i’m in love with the idea of turning my writing into a font, actually. i know there’s sites where you can do it, but i hate the way i write, so haven’t yet. if your writing was a font, though, i’d use it.
i also love the font Ali Edwards uses for all her designs. amazing

On the projects page, you introduce Kal as “artiest” – is that intentional? Google define told me that is a word, and it means “Superlative form of arty: most arty,” which would be an adjective, right?
My favorite font is Century Gothic. 🙂

Great web site, Elise! I enjoyed learning more about you and your processes. Loved the resume, too!
I have enjoyed reading your blog every day since the GOventure with Kal. I love your style!
All of the links worked perfectly for me.
I, too, saw the “artiest” description of Kal and thought it was fitting. Same line you need a space between each and other.

i’m using IE and i have a little suggestion for the site.
it’s good to display every page of your minibook. i love it 🙂 however, it takes a long time to load all the pictures, especially they are large in size. for example, there are 28 pics for the 24todobook project, and it takes more than 5 mins to load all of them.
my suggestion is that, you may consider to save 2 different sizes of pics in your sever: a smaller size (150X94px) for display, and a larger size (1076x807px) for the enlarge version. it’s quite easy to do as the photoediting program usually has a function to help resize all the pics chosen at once!
moreover, the loading time will be shorten if you use a pop-up window to show the enlarge version 🙂

thank you for that font link! i’m designing the flyer for our company picnic and i was looking for something with an old fashioned country feel.
i also love jane austen, and recently used it to make some handouts for the ladies in my congregation. actually, the handouts i made were basically complete duplicates of your bridesmaid invitations.
