enJOY it

Goventures1 Goventures1b When Kal tossed up green + dizzy all I could think of is my favorite word. Twirl. When I was a senior in college, struggling to find a job, my mom sent me a card that had a little girl spinning on the front and the inside read : "sometimes you just gotta twirl."

I believe this. My life, especially right now, is about twirling. Twirling from one project to the next. Twirling in circles until I find a new idea. I love it. If I am able to keep twirling forever and ever and this can be my job, well, SIGN ME UP.

Greenanddizzy So my piece of art for today became a girl in a green dress. A twirler. I should say that I am not a painter. I do not like how little control my hands have over the brush. I find painting non-abstract things difficult and awkward. But I didn't know how else to make a girl in a green dress. So I sketched her in colored pencil on cardstock that I letterpressed three times with "she believed in a good twirl." I added water to the paper and the colored pencil became water color. I then added the text with a black pen. And stamped over the top with a watermark stamp.

(After I was done I realized that green + dizzy could also mean nauseous. I am glad this was not the first thing that popped into my head.)

I will not be painting for the rest of the prompts. But this was a good challenge. Thank you, Kal for adventure number one. See you tomorrow with the next prompt : not my type. Game on. GO.

Very impressive for someone who doesn’t paint. I love her, and can’t wait for more of these challenges. Fun stuff.

Awesome Elise! You rocked it. I am super proud of you for trying a painting. I know that out-of-control feeling you’re talking about. But, the more you paint – the more you like it.
    I’m ready for tomorrow. GO!

I love this challenge already – and that your picture also came from something in your past. 🙂
I tried “green and dizzy” too – here’s my result: http://leavesinthespring.blogspot.com/2009/06/green-and-dizzy.html

I love your take on green + dizzy. I also thought of a girl twirling but ended up with a little photo shop.

I love the story behind your twirling girl! Sweetness! You & Kal are inspiring me to pull out my watercolors—maybe that will be my choice for tomorrow’s (today’s?) prompt… Here’s what I submitted for green + dizzy! http://www.flickr.com/photos/phineartist/3652946180/

Thanks for letting me be part of the GOventure. I’m hoping it will be just the push I need to take my leap.

I wanted to play, too! I only found enough time to green + dizzy some of my favorite old fireworks photos. I’ll be thinking hard about Tuesday’s theme and I hope, hope, hope to get my hands dirty in some paint! Thanks for pushing yourself and us to create, it really does bring out the best in me.
