Weddingwed

We are getting married in less than eleven months. I accidentally DVRed and watched Here Come the Newlyweds. It's a total joke of a show, but regardless, it made me even more excited. I can't wait to be with Paul forever. I know the marriage part will be more fun than the planning part. And it is really impressive that something could beat the planning part.

Wedwed2 Because of Paul's graduation, we will be leaving for our honeymoon about three weeks after the wedding. Which means a year from today we will still be in Europe. We are planning to visit the south of France and Cinque Terre in Italy. We want a romantic vacation with nothing more than wine and beaches and good food: cheese, bread and olives to be precise. I can hardly wait to see these beautiful locations with my main man.

I had a bright, though probably not original, idea to use postcards from our honeymoon spots as our thank you notes. So when we are not eating, drinking, taking photos and etc., we'll be looking for cool postcards to mail to our wedding guests when we get back home. (Sorry wedding guests who read, I am ruining all the suspense.)

And to give away another surprise : we are hoping for carrot wedding cake. For one, we love carrot cake. For two, IT'S ORANGE! Talk about a match made in heaven. I want a causal looking cake. Messy frosting, real (orange) roses, a few layers high, under $700, please.

The photo in the bottom right is my most favorite hair image of the moment. My hair will be up – no question. I am loving the sidebun. And no doubt, I'll be enjoying a glass or six of champagne.

loooooove the cinque terre. let’s chat about which town you guys are talking about staying in…i have been to a few – and i think “honeymooners” would enjoy certain ones more. although they are all fabulous. as long as you don’t try to make megan take a 6 hour hike. not a great move on our part…

You will have so much fun in France & Italy. If you still have time you should go a bit further down into Tuscany – my favourite place in Italy or up to see the Dolomite Alps (absolutely stunning). There is simply too much to see in Europe!

    1. i LOVED Cinque Terre when i lived in Italy! It was my most favorite spot i visited in Italy, you will love it! You can walk/hike between all 5 cities which i highly recommend!
    2. Also carrot cake is THE way to go in my book…have you looked at Freeport Bakery in Sacto? My friend used them for her wedding last year and they also had carrot cake, not sure the price, but worth looking into.
    3. I actually thought that picture of the wedding hair was you when i first glanced at it…that’s a good sign right? 🙂

My friend, the photo of the bride, was the one who told me about Cinque Terre when I was planning a trip to Italy, I thought that was funny. I went there and it was one of the coolest places I’d ever been.

We had a beautiful and simple carrot cake ar our wedding. It was three stacked tiers of yumminess. Cream cheese frosting covered in coconut and topped with some fresh flowers. I’d do that part again. =) I hope you have the best time with pulling your plans together. Weddings are amazing. Marriage IS better. Most of the time. {wink} And carrot cake is perfect- anytime!

hi! i’m a friend of jojo’s and i do believe she passed on some of my sac-area wedding thoughts/vendors to you, including freeport bakery’s contact info. we did have a carrot cake {LOVE!} and it was very reasonable because it wasn’t dubbed a “wedding cake,” but rather a 2- or 3-tier “anniversary cake.” (who knew there was a difference??) my mom took care of it, so i don’t recall the cost. anyway, i highly recommend them. 🙂 and, i thoroughly enjoy your blog on a daily basis. thanks for helping the work days pass with your sense of style and witty words.
