enJOY it

an archived personal and craft blog from Elise Blaha Cripe.

Getcrafty2 I am excited to be offering "Get Crafty" again. I ran this in the middle of April and was pleased with how things went. (Survey says participants were generally very happy as well. Please email me if you would like specifics.) There were some people who missed the original sign-ups or were busy during the first class – this one is for you.

My creative style has changed over and over again. Sometimes I am drawn
to straight and clean lines. Other times, I love the look of something
soft and fluid. I have been addicted to text, paint, letter stickers,
textured paper, chipboard, stamps, handwriting, computer journaling,
silhouetted photos, black and white photos…the works. I love that with
paper crafting you never have to stick to one shape, size, medium or
color palette. There is room for everything in scrapbook albums, art
journals and mini books.

One change that seems to be
fairly permanent in my own scrapbooking evolution is my avoidance of
"traditional" scrapbooking tools and products.
I can
appreciate new product releases, but rarely find myself incorporating
them into my projects. I prefer items that I have created. Papers I
have hand stamped. Stickers created on my computer. Hand cut titles. My
pages are a part of me – and I want more than just the photos to
reflect that.

Over two weeks, this class will explore techniques on how to build your projects from the ground up.
We will break away from the traditional scrapbooking products and
design our own paper and embellishments. Each weekday, there will be a "lecture", a project, an idea to try to that day and an idea to save for future use.  In addition, there will be photos, journaling prompts and anything else I come up with.

Junesneaks I have said this before, but I have never been as crafty as I was during the original class. My projects and layouts will still be shown as part of the workshop and I am hoping to find the same inspiration to create many more to share with class participants throughout the two weeks.
Scheuldepromo The syllabus for this rerun workshop will be the same as last time. Supplies are pretty basic – but I will say having a color printer is a big plus because you can print photos right away.

To sign up, please click the "buy now" button above. WORKSHOP CLOSED. The cost for this 10 day workshop remains the same as last time: $20 USD. Within 24 hours of completing your payment, you will receive an email with access information to the workshop blog. This button will be available until May 31 which is the day before the class starts. The workshop will run from June 1 – June 12 with instruction on weekdays.

I hope you will join me! If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments, I will answer them there.

I took part in the first round and it was such a great experience !
Actually I’m not done yet taking all the ideas in and making them my own. It was a very inspiring workshop, with a positive tone and clear explanations.
These ten days brought a lot of ideas and I do feel much more positive about tackling some new paper endeavors !
To sum it up : if you’re wondering whether to apply or not. Don’t. Just get crafty !

Adding to my previous comment :
    “don’t” = “don’t wonder”, “don’t hesitate”
    not “don’t apply”.
I got this nagging feeling that it might be confusing 🙂
(I promise no drinking took place before the posting)

I took the class the first time around and loved it. Highly recommend. One question, will people who took the first class be able to see your new examples?

Joy, Sadly, I can’t promise a baby-free workshop. I will say a new baby is about 100x cooler than this class. It’s a great class, but not that great. 🙂
Thinkie, I don’t know yet. It all depends on demand. I will keep you posted!

Is this a class in which if I get behind, can I sort of do it at my own pace? Will the materials and samples be available for me … forever? I am VERY interested in this!

hi! i’m very interested as well. i’m assuming i can look at the information at my own pace during those two weeks right? meaning…it’s not LIVE where i have to be on the web at a certain time each day…? if i can enjoy at my own pace then i’d definitely like to sign-up!

Hi I have a question for Elise or a previous class participant.
I love the look of this class but was wondering if the techniques mean I can adapt and alter exsisting scrapbook supplies? I’d love to make my own but would also like to use up some of the mountain of paper I already have.

    Hi Melanie + Shannon,
Thanks for your interest. Yes, this is a go at your own pace workshop.
At the end of the second week, I will provide all the lectures as pdfs
for you to keep forever. Additionally, the blog will be open for two
extra weeks after the class ends. There is no need to be online for anything “LIVE”.
Please let me know if you have more questions!

    Sara,
Good question. I think you can adapt some of the techniques with current patterned paper and supplies you may already have. I will try to come up with some examples of this based on the lecture material…
