Dress

Dress by Jenny Yoo via 100 Layer Cake (fabulous blog, btw.)

Today's "ooh la la" is over a dress. So far, the dress has been the
hardest part for me to visualize. I am going to shop for one in real
life with my mom, but for now I am just getting familiar with what I
like online.

This dress has a great v-neck in the front, which I am looking for.
And no train, which I do not want. And, oh man, am I in love with the
detail on the back. Plus it is just over $1000. And I am learning that
while that seems like oodles of money, it is really pretty inexpensive
for a wedding gown.

Gorgeous dress! $1000+ is a great price, believe me.
I wish I hadn’t spent as much as I did on mine (still I loved it and felt like a princes all day long).
Have you seen the ones on J Crew? Surprisingly beautiful and quite like the one you show here.

I am a HUGE orange fanatic (seriously, my middle name could be it.) So love when you post things with that.

Pretty! I like that the back is a more casual, spring/summer touch to a more traditional-looking front.
For me, trying them on was key. I knew what I wanted but the moment it was on my body, each gown was an instant “no” or “close”. One of the most important things to me was not that it was a dress I loved, but that it was also a dress that fit the style of the wedding we were having- keeping it all one cohesive vision.
Price is relative… For me, I knew I’d rather find a lower priced dress then buy a fabulous pair of shoes, or cocktail ring, or whatever, with the extra $. I never had a number in my head though. I got lucky though when I fell in love with a gown THEN checked the tag- mine was under $400.
