enJOY it

So.

I am experiencing some tooth pain in the tooth to the right of the knocked out ones. (Not sure what I am talking about? You can read the archives or just know that I spent all of 2006 and the better part of 2007 having and recovering from oral surgery that left me with tooth implants instead of my 9 and 10 teeth.) It feels like my good tooth is starting to shift to the left and to the back.

Being me, I am of course assuming the worst. That this tooth is dead and will have to come out and be replaced in a year and a half long drama.

Another possibility is that the root is undamaged and just recently it decided to shift and may require some sort of retainer.

What I am really hoping for is that it is all in my head and that actually this is a dream.

Needless to say, I am worked up.

I am going to visit a dentist out here in the next few days for X-rays that can be sent to my fantastic tooth man in California. He will know what to do.

And until I know what the plan is, I need to just take Ibuprofen and let this one go.

i think i’ve probably commented on this in the past, but i broke my 2 front teeth a few years ago and have had multiple root canals on each, 4 different sets of permanent crowns that haven’t worked out, several gum surgeries and I’M STILL NOT DONE. (although hopefully i will be finishing this process up in the next few months).
anyway, i always find it so reassuring when i come across other people dealing with the same thing – just makes you feel not so alone. also, i’m EXACTLY like you in that every time my teeth hurt, even just a little, i assume the very worst.
    good luck!!!

Teeth issues are the worst. After years of neglect when I was younger, I am finally gearing up to return to the dentist. I’m terrified of the long road ahead of me, and won’t even discuss it with anyone close to me, because to them, a cavity is a huge deal. I hope it’s all in your mind. I know how horrible it can be.

I hope your tooth is in good shape now. Perhaps the movement was just a result of the implants you had. If the movement becomes extreme, retainers should help keep them in place.
