enJOY it

an archived personal and craft blog from Elise Blaha Cripe.

I sat on the couch for hours on end yesterday. And finally fell asleep in my lucky t-shirt and "I Voted" sticker. Thank you for the comments on the previous post. I have to say the "I agree to disagree" were so nice to read.

Someone on TV said last night that this is just another election in the history of the United States where the parties changed power peacefully. How many countries can say that? To me, that fact alone instills pride.

I will be back later this afternoon to show photos of some older scrap albums – I love that idea for a blog topic.

Thank you for reading.

I have to say, I was disapointed this morning, finding that none of the blogs I follow expressed disapointment with the election results. Like I was all alone, and everyone else was talking about how unified they felt- even though a large part of the U.S. did not actually vote for Obama, and aren’t unified in opinion at all. I think the reason is just because those of us who did not vote for Obama just aren’t as loud as those who did. And I feel like we are gracious losers. I had to wonder what it would be like, though, were the roles reversed. But after reading this post now, I am confident that there are people who voted for Obama (like you!) who are actually gracious, and who aren’t obnoxious, demeaning, and act like they are more informed than people who disagree with them. And I’m really glad, Elise, because after reading your fair and kind political posts, I feel like I can let go a little bit of this frustration and just get along with people who disagree with me.
