Working at a store that sells greeting cards on Valentine’s Day is a lot like running into a Tornado. And also, the Tornado would like to know if you sell pre-made bows. And also, you have one leg.

Yes.

What a day of Love.

I am very glad that Paul and I were able to celebrate without pre-made bows. We went to a fantastic little restaurant for lunch. The food made me so full that I only ate a large slice of carrot cake for dinner. Why carrot cake, you ask? Because the bakery down the street was sold out of cupcakes. Because Valentine’s Day is code for "You Must Eat Cupcake’s Day". And because well, celebrate!

And then, for dessert/break from the Tornado chasing, I ate a piece of chocolate cake. The cake said "sacher" on the top which turns out means chocolate, not "Calorie Free" as I originally thought. Drat.

But at the end of the day, despite the whole pre-made bow issue and current sugar rush, I feel happy. Happy to be in a real everlasting, see-you-next-Valentine’s-Day, Love Situation.

Sorry about your tornado of a work day… but at least it’s over until next year! And I love Addies! We used to go there for special occasions when we lived in Gaithersburg. They used to have a killer tomato soup in the summer and fall there. And those funky clocks on the wall were so much fun to look at while eating… do they still have those? I used to work within walking distance too but now I’m on the other side of the Potomac. And I HATE the dmv. When I tried to get my license in MD I experienced similar problems (related to the fact that I had gotten married and decided to change my last name – didn’t bring the right paperwork – and the people there are incredibly RUDE! ugggg! I had to go back three times! Let’s just say that I am not a big fan of the dmv places. Virginia was only marginally better.
Hope you have a great weekend!! Are you by any chance going to Get Croppin this weekend?
