Img_7938"Dear God," she prayed, "let me be something every minute of every hour of my life. Let me be gay; let me be sad. Let me be cold; let me be warm. Let me be hungry…have too much to eat. Let me be ragged or well dressed. Let me be sincere – be deceitful. Let me be truthful; let me be a liar. Let me be honorable and let me sin. Only let me be something every blessed minute. And when I sleep, let me dream all the time so that not one little piece of living is ever lost."

What a fabulous quote … I remember loving this book when I read it in junior high … hope you don’t mind, I added the quote to my blog as the quote of the week.

I was a wee bit shocked (though probably should not have been) when reading the blog this morning. I threw down the computer (accidently), ran into my room (tripped on my blanket on the way), and searched through my (fabulous) bookshelf for a certain book…flipped around a bit…but it wasn’t too hard to find b/c of the dog-earred page. THAT passage, underlined.
    miss you 🙂

Elise, what a blast from the past. I remember reading that book in high school and thinking about my own father who reminded me a lot of Francie’s Dad.
