elise vs. the elements : round one.

Whew.

I made it home.

It pretty much snowed all day. And a lot of it stuck. I kept myself and those around me very aware of what was happening outside. And when we left work, I told my co-workers to be careful of snow drifts. And when I got off the bus, I told the driver this was my first snow (and then I slipped off the stairs.)

I did manage to buy boots in Georgetown. Friday, I will pick up more snow apparel. Thank you, thank you for your advice and words of winter encouragement. I am thinking about printing them out and taping them inside my car. Before winter came, Paul warned me about people here who freak out when they drive in the snow. I think today we both realized that I am "people".

    well there are tons of “people” here in CA that don’t know how to drive in the rain. going 75mph on a slick road is not smart “people”, not smart at all.
    but I couldn’t imagine driving in snow. I think I’d just call in sick and say the snow did it.
    good luck out there. at least it’s COLD out there in MD. here in CA, we’re having 75 degree weather in the almost-middle-of December. go figure huh?

    Woot! I love that you are under siege by snow. That’s awesome. Makes me smile. Just go slow. Snow is like SURFING – go slow and let the elements win. Good part is that everyone is trying to get somewhere – so if we ALL GO SLOW then we all get there safe.

    i’ll be following closely because i’m moving to VA from the caribbean in a couple months and boy am i worried about walking on the stuff! eep. i’m barely good on solid non squishy non icy ground
