Like I said, I really enjoy ELLE magazine. I bought it last week and read it. Actually READ it, which is rare for me and a magazine. And I loved it. I did. But it also made me slightly depressed that a) I do not wear couture and b) I cannot afford to even pretend I am wearing couture. a) and b) helped me realize that c) I will probably never be a fashion icon and d) I will never amass a large collection of beautiful clothes.
But yesterday, I realized that I CAN collect something else very beautiful. Something else expensive. Something else well designed and lovely. Paper. Specifically paper that has been pressed and printed with messages and greetings. Specifically paper that makes my heart beat faster. And while I cannot wear this paper, I can find it and frame it and bind it into books.
I bought my first two official "this is my new collection" pieces at Paper Source yesterday. They are by Hammerpress and Egg Press and will hang on the walls during Christmas (and yes, according to their websites, they are handmade.)
I am currently googling and etsying like crazy. Here are a few others I have found/remember hearing about:
Perhaps the first step in making cool stuff is having a cool company name.
Any cool press + print links to share?
