A random act of kindness got me out of a tough spot tonight. I want to pass it on.
Leave a comment about something you are thankful for by midnight tomorrow night. I will draw names and the winner receives a Cool Present from me. I do not know what the Cool Present is yet. It will be catered to the winner. For example, if you are a scrapbooker, you get Paper Source goods. If you are one of my SC girls, you get a bottle of Jack. That sort of thing.

ooohhh! I LOVE this idea! I was at the hospital on Monday with my Mom and Dad. Mom was having cataract surgery and while Dad and I were waiting for her we watched a whole bunch of patients going in and out of the hospital to have a smoke. I know, yuck! Anyway some of them had tubes with boxes attached to them. Others had tanks and some had other things. My Dad kept asking me what was that, how about that, what is that? I dunno I kept replying and then I turned to him and said “how lucky are we?” and he said “why?” I said “we have NO idea what any of that stuff is because none of us has ever been in the hospital for anything serious”. He said “ya, I guess that’s right”. So today I am thankful that my family is healthy and happy.

I’m grateful for the new boy in my life, even if he is currently 300 miles away. He makes my heart melt and the butterflies in my stomach sing, which sounds totally gross, but is actually really cool.

Tony Tave(pro skater) put a smile on my son’s face tonight. We happened upon is house while trick or treating and he gave my son his autograph. It’s been a really tough week with the death of our beloved grandma and to see a smile on my son’s face, well it put a smile on mine. I’m thankful that Tony Tave was gracious enough to take the time for my son…it meant the world to me.

thankful that my toddler and husband are over the worst of their simultaneous stomach bugs…it was a rough week for Dr Mom!
On the bright side, they slept a good bit while ill so I got a little more creative ‘me’ time in than usual-my poor dears!

I’m thankful … so.very.thankful….for a beautiful, healthy baby born to me 3 years ago. Of course, I’m thankful for my other kids too, but this little gal was my peri-menopausal surprise baby, born to me at age 47.

when i think about it, i’m thankful for so many things, even though i may not appreciate all of them…from the cats who cuddle with me while i’m spending all.day.long doing accounting homework, to my wonderful husband who knew i had a crappy day, so he decided we needed a night of take out (which we haven’t done in months and months) and musicals. i’m thankful for my family, who take time out of their lives to drive 180 miles to help us renovate our house, and for the little old ladies at my parent’s church who are always glad to see me, and give many loving hugs. i’m thankful for my grandpa, because he’s amazing, and i’m thankful for the time i had with my grandma (but i miss her so much). i’m thankful for the community support that my grandpa has had these past few months. i’m thankful for the beautiful autumn season. and for amazing friends. and love. ❤

I am thankful that I found a place in L.A. that serves amazing matzo ball soup so I can eat it here all winter and not miss my mom’s kitchen so badly.
Side note: Scott was going through a rough patch and was really tense and grumpy at night in bed, so I started having us both name 5 things we were thankful for. It’s really been a nice activity to add into our routine and although he thinks it’s corny (which it is!) I do think it helps us stay happy and grateful. 🙂

just had to share the random act i experienced recently…someone prepaid $30 at the gas station i pulled up to. and of course it was a day that i only had cash and would have had to drag my 1 and 2 year old in to prepay, so it was a double blessing! free gas and the girls got to stay in the car!
so i’m thankful (amoung a million other things) for that amazing kind-hearted person who gave me free gas!

im grateful for the beautiful fall weather, and my best friend in the whole world (who is 24 and just a normal girl) is about to die from complications from pneumonia, and i am able to be with her. i live in montana and the passes have remained clear so i can drive to see her, my work has been great about time off and my teachers have been very understanding. i pray for her wellness. i love your blog and your scrappy style, girl, and this is totaly a bright spot in my day. thanks!
