Img_6349_2Yes, I know. And they are the most comfortable shoe I have worn since booties.

I have what we like to call a commute to get to work. Involving cars, metros and buses. Involving waiting and paying. At first, this was cause for concern. But today, day two, I realized that this "get to work and get home on time" is the best thing that has ever happened to me. It allows me to create a series of games:

  • How close can I stand to the exact spot the metro doors will open?
  • Which line will pass through the metro scanner the fastest?
  • What is the exact walking pace that separates quick-paced-normal-girl from  complete-nutcase-running-from-cops?
  • How many stops will the bus breeze through because we are too full?
  • At which metro stop will I have the best chance of catching the bus at the exact moment before the doors are shutting?

The answers to all of this and more now sit in the palm of my hand twice a day. Of course, life would be oh so much greater, if in the palm of my hand was an iPhone with gmail access. But today, I am simply grateful to have found a way to please my fanatical need to save time.
