Maybe unpleasant things happen so we can realize how important friendships are. So we lean on others and feel supported. Or maybe it is so greeting cards have a real purpose. Or maybe not.
But regardless, this card from Sara rocks right now. It’s simplicity speaks volumes. Seriously, talk about articulation.
Talk about support. Talk about reality check. Talk about how I just decided I should work for Hallmark. Talk about how hilarious it is that I, planner of Life, maker of all things goal-oriented, most-determined-to-have-a-career-by-Thanksgiving, am finding myself a little stunned. A little like the guy trying to catch a cab in NYC in the rain on a Friday night. A little like the farmer who lost his needle in a haystack. A little like "Dude, where’s my job?" A little like "HEY ELISE…WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO START ENJOYING IT?"
Because that is what I would like to know.
I think, Step 1 is to laugh. At myself. It reminds me of a story I just made up: There once was this planner who lost her calendar. And then when she offered a $10,000 reward for it’s return, she realized: "Dude. For $10,000 I could buy 1000 new calendars." And then she went to the calendar store.
Good Story. Speaks volumes. Like my card. Thank you, Sara my love.
