enJOY it

It’s a brand new year.  A brand new start.  A new planner (ooooh, it’s delightful…lots and lots of space for to-do lists).  A new semester.  2006.  I am going to graduate college this year (December).  I am going to turn 21.  I am going to visit NYC.  I am hopefully going to find an amazing internship (and a real job — yikes).  I am going to embrace the house as just a regular member.  I am going to LIVE POSITIVELY.

So quickly wanted to gather my thoughts about 2005…it was a big year for me.

I was Alpha Phi’s President. It was difficult but amazing.  So Challenging, but such an accomplishment.  Learned to deal with people.  Learned to make difficult decisions.  Learned to be a motivator.  Learned to follow my heart.

I had two internships…one in La Jolla at a real esate firm and then one in Sacramento at Allied Insurance.  Both were interesting.  Both kept me active and got me thinking.

I took my first Marketing Concentration class.  I was the youngest, but learned to speak up.  It was good.  Made me happy I chose my major.  Made me excited to learn.

I dealt with body image issues.  Saw a nutritionist.  Leaned heavily on family and friends. Learned to cook and eat healthy.  Learned to enjoy food again and thus enjoy life.

I was single for the better part (11 months) of 2005.  This was a big deal for me.  I have not really been without a boyfriend…since 8th grade.  Eye-Opener.  I spent time with my family, cherished my friendships and felt like I was finally fufilling myself. I am going to continue to experience this "single" life for awhile.

It’s a process.

Last night was a celebration of the end of a big year and the promise of a bigger one.  Went to a friend’s house for a gathering.  Love seeing people from high school.  Love that we are growing up.  Love that the boys hung signs with phone numbers to call taxis.  Love that I had my camera.  Love that I got to bring my fabulous new clutch (hobo international…get on board).  Love to watch the ball drop.  Love to count down.  Love that my New Year’s Kiss was a peck and came from a girl named Ash Kiss.  LOVE this photo:
