    Friday Free Day.

Nine more work days until Hawaii.

I just called the water department to see HOW we used 5000 more gallons of water this month than any other month in history. They do not know. I do not know. Paul does not know. Both the environmentalist and the cheapskate in me are NOT pleased.

The geese have joined up with ANOTHER family of geese. We now have four parents, four babies, and two teenage geese. Quite exciting.

I loved Grey’s Anatomy last night. I may or may not have stood up and cheered at the end. I may or may not regret that I just admitted that.

My film camera, for the record is a Canon EOS Rebel. I use Kodak film. I just reloaded it.

I may or may not be taking three different cameras to Hawaii.

Today’s plans involve paper and Pandora.

supplies used: chipboard, stazon ink, Paper Source circle stamp, American Crafts slick writer, ribbon, deflecto letter stickers, date stamp, Kolo photo corners.

A random little home for some of the film photos I took last weekend and some of the thoughts I have today.

Over the weekend I took three rolls of film. Of little random "this is what I see and like" things.

Today I had them all processed at Target. And besides the fact that nearly every single one has a faint gray line on it and they have to be reprinted – I am quite excited about the whole she-bang.

Depth of field is a good friend of mine. The guy at Target who forgot to clean the scanner bed is public enemy number one.

Reprint shall happen tomorrow and chipboard/film magic will occur after that.

  • Paul and I have adopted a family of geese.

    This same family of geese.

Except now two of the babies are missing.

(I should be clear that we are technically not responsible for their well-being. We are, however, very interested them and spend a lot of time observing and discussing them. They have become our pets that we do not have to feed, walk, water, or bathe. The Pet Rock of the 21st century.)

The geese live in the grassy lot that is next to our apartment. They have their own little woodsy environment there – complete with a lake giant puddle. Normally we can spot them eating and swimming around.

Yesterday, we saw a fox try to attack them.

    Seriously.

The Papa Goose noticed the fox hiding in the tall grass and alerted the rest of the clan. As a little family unit, they waddled quickly up a big grassy hill. The fox, who probably is the reason there are now four goslings instead of six, just waited and watched.

We too waited and watched until it looked like the geese were far enough away that they would be safe for a little while.

It was right about then that I realized I should have bought a HD video camera. The Planet Earth folks would have fallen all over themselves to get this footage.

Tried out the wood type today
. I am happy with how they look pressed. Mom and vern…you both have mail coming your way. And v, sorry for the capitals.

  • Big Adventures today.

Off to Target for the important things, like cereal and toothpaste and batteries for MY FILM CAMERA. Because just recently, I came to the realization that my good old fashioned film SLR takes three million time better photos than my little digital Powershot. So I am going to try film back on for awhile.

After Target, it is serious operation: clean the house time. Which is very different from operation: move the piles into different places time. We are having guests over for dinner tomorrow night. Which is excellent. Because hosting a dinner party is number nine on my list. And I am not sure if four people constitutes a Party, but I am sure that these two people just got engaged and that deserves a celebration.

Tonight is also a celebration because at this moment, Paul is taking his last final of his second year of med school. Which he would say means absolutely nothing until he takes his boards on June 4, but I would say, "Congrats, Love."

And I am also excited to share this.

    All good things.

  • A lot of the blogs I am loving recently have "lovely" in the title:

    Good stuff.

It has been a long time since I shared a layout or two. Mostly because it has been a long time since I have made a layout or two that I feel good about. It is all about the scrapbook ebb and flow around here. And it seems as though I have been ebbing.

Above are a few that I made with the May Cupcake Scrapshop kit. I love these ones. These ones make me want to buy a new album and fill it up.

    Littlefamilies

Mom got her first digital camera for Mother’s Day yesterday. The photo on the right is one that she took, three thousand miles away, of what appears to be the same family I captured on Saturday. Which would explain why I have not seen them in a few days.

I feel like a very proud parent, looking at one of Mom’s first photos.

Today is MONDAY. GO DAY. An absolutely wonderful day for the rain to stop and not return until next winter. (Although the above photos prove the rain is doing wonderful things for the grass in Maryland.) An absolutely wonderful day to check out the new Poppytalk Handmade Market and the second Lines & Shapes book.
