Somehow I ended up with 3 in-process mini books this summer. The 24 to do book, the summer book & the wedding planning book. I love trying to keep up It means I need to take lots of photos. But more importantly, it means I need to PRINT MY PHOTOS. I have this great theory that some time in the future, I will be so excited to page through photos instead of click through them. (Though maybe I should focus on making these books Kindle compatible?)Here is documentation of our May date night. (Star Trek was fabulous, BTW.)
A reminder about the book contents : There are 24 pages that each represent one thing I am planning to do before my 25th birthday. One of those items is "plan a date night once a month." At the end of the year, 12 dates will be filed behind the a main page. In theory, this book will be much thicker by next February. You can read more about it and see some finished pages here.
Also, I have decided to make more SUMMER MINI KITS. I have all the supplies en route now and I hope to have them sorted and ready for ordering by the end of next week. Thank you for your interest – I'll keep you posted.+++
And also! Thanks for the sweet words about the wedding planning. I have to say, I am enjoying this process a lot. Organizing and scheming and dreaming and planning and budgeting are right up my alley. And Paul is quite wonderful too.

If my math is correct, there are 49 Wednesdays between today and the Big Day. I figured instead of ignoring the wedding planning OR obsessing over the wedding planning, I could just post a weekly wrap up when there is stuff to say. When there isn't, you'll get Regular Wednesday. For being 49 weeks out, we are looking pretty good.
We have : a church (top left), a flower plan, a bridesmaid dress color (the one shown is from j.crew), a save the date prototype (the gray circle rectangle shown above is the backing for a letterpress save the date. Paper is kind of a big deal to me.), a ribbon to wrap around the bouquets (well, we don't actually have said ribbon, but thanks to the friendly customer service people at May Arts, I know where to purchase said ribbon), a wedding dress (yes, secret's out. I am wearing this from j.crew. It was Paul's favorite from the site and it looks great on: winner.), a reception venue (Citizen Hotel), and a possible earring option. Not pictured, but we also have a DJ. And a photographer.
My photographer is a cool girl from Sacramento that I found via a google search. She had the best website. Never under estimate the power of a good website. We chatted and I know we will be a good match. Included in her wedding photo package is an engagement session. I am so excited. I have wanted to do an engagement session since all the hype about Max Wanger. I think I will wear this dress (for the engagement pictures.) I know it is a little formal, but the very best part about planning a wedding is you get to do whatever you like. And I'll wear flat shoes to calm it down. And we are going to use a bottle of wine and a few wine glasses as our props. I think props can make or break an engagement shoot.
Lisa, I can't wait.
Let's see…what else? I have decided to ex-nay the grand embroider-the-table-number plan. (Kal, I can hear your sigh of relief.) Bummer, I know, but after I saw our amazing reception venue I knew cross-stitched table numbers were not going to fit in. And so, we'll come up with a new plan. And the 4, 7 and 5 that I already stitched can be framed and will become a great conversation starter in our brand new living room. (I felt like Bob Barker just then.)
Since all this is getting signed, sealed and delivered, I have decided to move up the wedding date. Just kidding. It is going to take me the next eleven months to come up with a plan for fabulous wedding hair. And you should hear Paul stress about what sort of shoes to wear.

Celebrate Tuesday. The picture above is my newest stamp. I recently decided I was sick and tired of writing my address on the back or corner of all outgoing (non-etsy) orders. It was time to buy an address stamp. I should have done it two years ago, but now seems like as good a time as any. I ordered from simonstamp.com and at checkout noticed that you can do custom images (at no extra charge). I uploaded my handwritten "celebrate" and ta-da. A new custom stamp. What will I use it on? Any number of things. Mostly outgoing mail. But maybe as a fake tatoo. Maybe on P's homework assignments. Maybe on the mirror when the day is long and boring.
Like yesterday. I should have got out the stamp yesterday. It was a 2 out of 10 on the productivity scale. Partly because I woke up late, but also because I took a two hour nap and watched Freaky Friday on the Disney Channel. Not my finest hour/day. Not at all. (It's not that Freaky Friday isn't a great movie, it's that nothing says "what are you doing with your life?" than the over-achieving kids on the Disney Channel commercials.)
I am hoping for the opposite today. I would love to be 10 out of 10 on the "GET IT DONE" scale. We'll see. I need a list first…
Wishing you a productive and good mail day. Filled with celebrations.

I am excited to be offering "Get Crafty" again. I ran this in the middle of April and was pleased with how things went. (Survey says participants were generally very happy as well. Please email me if you would like specifics.) There were some people who missed the original sign-ups or were busy during the first class – this one is for you. +++
My creative style has changed over and over again. Sometimes I am drawn
to straight and clean lines. Other times, I love the look of something
soft and fluid. I have been addicted to text, paint, letter stickers,
textured paper, chipboard, stamps, handwriting, computer journaling,
silhouetted photos, black and white photos…the works. I love that with
paper crafting you never have to stick to one shape, size, medium or
color palette. There is room for everything in scrapbook albums, art
journals and mini books. One change that seems to be
fairly permanent in my own scrapbooking evolution is my avoidance of
"traditional" scrapbooking tools and products. I can
appreciate new product releases, but rarely find myself incorporating
them into my projects. I prefer items that I have created. Papers I
have hand stamped. Stickers created on my computer. Hand cut titles. My
pages are a part of me – and I want more than just the photos to
reflect that.Over two weeks, this class will explore techniques on how to build your projects from the ground up.
We will break away from the traditional scrapbooking products and
design our own paper and embellishments. Each weekday, there will be a "lecture", a project, an idea to try to that day and an idea to save for future use. In addition, there will be photos, journaling prompts and anything else I come up with.
I have said this before, but I have never been as crafty as I was during the original class. My projects and layouts will still be shown as part of the workshop and I am hoping to find the same inspiration to create many more to share with class participants throughout the two weeks.
The syllabus for this rerun workshop will be the same as last time. Supplies are pretty basic – but I will say having a color printer is a big plus because you can print photos right away.To sign up, please click the "buy now" button above.WORKSHOP CLOSED. The cost for this 10 day workshop remains the same as last time: $20 USD. Within 24 hours of completing your payment, you will receive an email with access information to the workshop blog. This button will be available until May 31 which is the day before the class starts. The workshop will run from June 1 – June 12 with instruction on weekdays.I hope you will join me! If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments, I will answer them there.

New scrapjacked up – join us!Those too cool red labels are a free download from poppytalk (thank you, Steph). Just scroll down a bit to see them. I printed on regular white cardstock and glued them on to the page. Background cardstock is leftover from letterpress practice.
Happiest of Sundays to you.

This seemed to be the lesson of lessons on Grey's last night. Along with "Are you SERIOUS?" And also, "I'll love you even when I hate you." Whew. What a rush. I woke Paul up I was so freaked out. And Paul half asleep is not the one you want to calm your nerves. He kept repeating, "Yes, I know who George is." Hmmm. It's Friday! hip, hip!! I have a few hours of work at a real place of employment today and then the next FIVE days, I have to spend at home. My fake place of employment. I am excited. Beyond excited, you could say.
This weekend is going to be really busy. We're going to see Star Trek tonight. I told Paul I would go with him if we could get sushi first. He happily agreed. I am dumb. I should have said, "We can go if first we go shopping for tutus." Then it would have been a real bargain. Oh well, I have been hearing great reviews. From people who I trust.
We are also going to a concert – or maybe "music festival" is the correct term. I am not really a concert sort of goer so this will be fun. And I will be wearing sunscreen.

Six more summer kits on etsy. This really is the last of the bunch unless there is enough interest that it is worth it to re-order covers, and pages and labels. So if 50 people still want them after they're sold out, then I could remake. But 50 seems like a whole lot. I don't know though. Documentation is the way of the future. And the past.
It's early. I should go. xo.
