I love the Internet. Here are some favorites I found this week…

so fun to read this post about taking a kiddo to Maui! A week from today this will be us!

a Full House spinoff. I'm intrigued.

the best part of this hilarious skit is how calm and kind they are throughout.

super cute way to document a first year.

Disney's radical plan to modernize its cherished theme parks.

beautiful paintings.

how fun are these for spring.

a 23 minute speech that will encourage you to enter the arena.

Tara, your home (and those plants) are just beautiful.

nailed it.

why people misunderstand each other.

if you missed this week's Elise Gets Crafty episode about the Fringe Hours, listen here!

thank you for the quote, Aunt Carol.

We just returned from Maui on Tuesday with a 5-year-old and a 1-year-old. We went on a whale watching boat. It’s the end of the whale season but we still saw a mom and baby whale. We saw sea turtles on the beach at 6pm at Ho’okipa (just east of the airport). We did the Haleakala sunrise + road to Hana on the same day (3am-9pm). Our 5-year-old got carsick halfway into the ride but still liked all of the stops we made. He was also VERY excited to see his very first rainbow. We got the book Maui Revealed which was thorough and helpful.

I have done two maui trips with toddlers – first widen I had one daughter 19 mos and then when I had two daughters 4 and 19 mos. buy sand toys and umbrellas at Kmart and find a great beat. We loved the beach mentioned above with the sea turtles. My girls loved the sunset boat cruise we went on. Coconuts restaurant for fish tacos. Throw the nap schedule out the window and just roll with it. Also, Kula Lodge for a gorgeous and delish breakfast after Haleakala sunrise. Enjoy!

Have a great time in Maui! It’s so beautiful there. I would recommend bring some sandals that Ellerie can wear in the water as some of the beaches are rocky under the water.

I second Leoda’s! So good! You can buy these mini pies that are just the right size and the burgers are fantastic and so is the french fry sauce. You would also appreciate Flatbread Pizza in Paia, which is a super fun little town. I LOVE LOVE LOVE their Kalua pig pizza. In Kahului at the Maui Mall there’s this little hole-in-the-wall place called Tasaka Guri-guri. It’s a really light, creamy ice-cream/sherbert hybrid. It’s one of those places where if you haven’t gone, you haven’t been to Maui.
Kula Country Farms has a fun garden play area for kids. Ali’i Kula Lavender farm has beautiful fields of lavender and awesome lavender products, Surfing Goat Dairy does tours of their goat farm and their goat cheese are AMAZING. It’s just gorgeous Up Country where all the farms are.
A word of caution about Ka’anapali if you’re staying down there – that beach isn’t very kid friendly at all. There’s very little wading room before there’s a steep drop off, it’s usually really hot there and no shade. Great beach if you’re honeymooning, but I’m wary of taking my kids there. We like Kealia. There’s an awesome boardwalk with beautiful views, usually not many people, and little tide pools that are more kid-friendly but no bathrooms. Boring for adults, but our kids love it there. Just be careful of thorny tree branches. In general, Kihei beaches are safer for kids. KamoΚ»ole III, and Keawakapu (though the parking sucks) are a couple of our favorites. I hate Kihei…except for the beaches.
Ok. shutting up now. I miss Maui! Whatever you do, you’ll have a blast.

We just went to WDW a couple of weeks ago. I loved the Magic band system! So easy. Not having to worry about keeping track of your money, tickets, and fastpasses made everything so easy.
