Is it just me or is a little girl coming emerging out of my baby? Film, as always, is magic.

Too many favorites this month to choose, but I think it's that one with her bundle of babies against the white wall (despite the battle wounds) might win. Or actually that one where she's covered in cheese, showing me how she says her prayers. (heart eye emojis.)

These photos are part of my "film project" where I take a roll of film of Ellerie each month. You can see all of these posts here. I shoot with an old film camera similar to this and this lens. I buy my film on amazon and from my local photo shop, Nelson's Photo Supply. I have my photos printed at Nelson's. These images are un-retouched digital scans of the film.

I love the one in the hall with her holding the pink bag and pushing the popper! So sweet.

So cute. She looks so much like you! Love the mix of baby and toddler. I feel like Graham’s just starting to enter that phase right now!

I think the best one is her lying on the floor all tucked in with her stuffed animals 🙂

As someone who does not have children it always amazes me how watching a child’s development goes through the different iterations of the parents. When she was born she looked like your clone to me and now I feel like she is 100% Paul. So weird. So fun to watch. Love this project. Curious as to how you are storing this project. Considering going back to film in my own life, but not sure I want to deal with the clutter of having prints around.

Film is so much better at showing what’s ‘real’ than digital. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE digital! But the lack of editing on these pictures is what makes them so great. The light in your house is SO good. As is Ellerie’s light!

Adorable. Teddy looked like he was having a rough go up there, though.

These pictures are breath-taking. I particularly love the picture of her with Teddy. And yes, Teddy looks a bit tipsy to me! 🙂 My daughter had a big Teddy, though not that big (!), on her bed, and she used to lean over/back on it when she slept. Your picture brought back such sweet memories. Actually nearly all of your pictures of Ellerie nearly stop me in my tracks. My daughter had the same big eyes (but brown, not blue), the same wispy, almost-not-there hair, the same round face, and the same big, adorable, “I love the world” smile. I can kind -of still smell, and feel, and hear those days like they were yesterday, but not really. My girl is nearly 21 and it just keeps getting better. But oh, I’d give so much to have just one more day with her at the age your Ellerie is. Ellerie is so beautiful and little and big and serious and smiley and magical all at the same time. Your love for her just shines through all of your posts. 🙂

I am starting a film project of my own and was wondering if you only take horizontal pictures. I am trying to figure out how to put the photos into an album. I was going to use a regular one, but my problem is that I HATE having to turn the book for vertical pages. In the past, I’ve used a 6×8 Project Life album and just made all the vertical pix 6×8, but I obviously can’t do that unless I re-print all the photos – which I don’t want to do, really. I have already started the project and taken vertical pictures, so I don’t want to just re-start. Ahhhh. I’m rambling, sorry.

I know your her mom so you already know this but she is so adorable! I love this project. This always seems to be an adorable age. I’ve wondered if it is because they have all that baby cuteness but also have such clear personalities and some kind of pizazz that we notice less as we age. Whatever the reason she seems pretty awesome in these photos!
