For my next MAKE&GIVE30 project, I am using yarn again! This is actually the first project I created but the excitement over the first four go in the way. I'm realizing though that I've got to get these knit projects out of the way quick while we are still technically in winter. 😉
I was excited to use up some beautiful yarn that I've had stashed for almost a year! I bought it while I was up in Oregon and originally used it to crochet the world's ugliest cowl. It only made sense that I would give it another life as a knit cowl.
I decided to knit with two strands at once and I am in love with the tight and thick knit that it resulted in, not to mention the pretty way the colors blended. This is just knit stitch over and over. I cast on just 62 stitches and then knit in the round for 60 rows. I used size 10 circular needles that were 18 inches long.
The result is a very small (tight) and cozy knit cowl. It's so soft and warm! I hope it goes to someone in a chilly climate who will get a ton of use out of it…hopefully NEXT winter because spring is coming, right?!
And now! The giveaway! Since this cowl is all about that color mix, tell me your favorite color combination in the comments section. I'll draw a random winner Saturday and I'll ship anywhere.
Winner is #4, Erin who said : My favorite combination lately is gold and light pink! I've been gold and pinking it up like crazy in my little girls room! Can't stop won't stop 😉 (email me Erin!)

im thinking paper wise and i love any color with a hint of yellow just cause it tends to make it pop more!
but with clothing, well im mostly ALWAYS in black so i love accessorizing with colors that POP!
i dont think ill give up black anytime soon so i like that i can add hints of colors here and there.

This canadian winter seems like it will never end! And it will only get colder when I move from central Ontario to the furthest Eastern city in the west hemisphere… St. John’s Newfoundland. It even has its own time zone 0_0. This cowl would be a relief in cold temperatures. My fave colour combo is gold and aubergine purple. Thanks for the chance to win.

I just moved into my first place and I’m having fun with color schemes in different rooms. My kitchen has cherry red, ocean blue, and some yellows and greens. My Living room is very neutral with greys and beiges. For my bedroom I’m working on black, white, and gold with some light yellows.

I love the varigated look of this yarn! personally I have been on the lookout for something similar in Black, red, and white. I think it rather a masculine combination (and thus am looking for it so I can make my son a crocheted blanket). Cheers!! Thanks for reading:)

I wear A LOT of black and grey. (Why do we artists tend to wear so much black? I like to think its to balance our crazy, colorful minds.) Lately I’ve been adding a little splash of coral/rosy pink to the mix, or bumping up my gold jewelry. Thanks for the gorgeous give-away!!

Nature’s colours – greens and browns. With the occasional dark muted purple or dusky pink. Saying that, I’m crocheting (a much delayed or very early Christmas present!) my husband a scarf with dark green, orange and dark blue which looks pretty awesome and suitably manly.
Wishing our spring was that little bit closer over here in the UK!
Thank you!
