scrap yarn knit blanket

Last year, while I was knitting my 29 blankets, I knitted one extra (I think it was number 19). I didn't have enough of two yarns colors at the house and I was wanting to knit so I just started adding scrap yarn together. Of course, then I ran out of scrap yarn and had to go buy more to actually finish this blanket.

Originally, I thought I'd sell it as one of the 29 but then realized that would be so random. 28 striped blankets and then this one! This random one! #odd.

So I kept it aside and powered through the remaining blankets. And then sold them in November.

This one is still special to me though. I love the look. I love the warm color palette. I love the crazy changing yarns.

Like all the blankets, this was knit with simple back-and-forth garter stitch on size 15 needles. (I did 60 stitches per row if you want to make your own.)

I love all the bright colors – orange and fuschia are my two favorite colors and are the colors of the playroom at our house!
I started following you after I took Project Life lessons last year! Love your style 🙂 I have really enjoyed reading your business posts this year and how you got started and progressed to where you are today!
Thanks for all the great inspiration!

Well this might be my favorite one out of the 29 you made. It’s gorgeous.
I started reading shortly after E was born and especially love your letters to her along with most all of your mothering posts. I love that you are just so level headed (or at least write that way) and it gives me such good perspective. I love that E is about 9 months older than my daughter so it is always giving me a gimps of the fun things that are coming. I can’t wait to get out the water colors with my daughter.

Gorgeous blanket!! I started following you when you created the seafoam edition to project life. I would have to say my favorite post would be your more relaxed way to tackle PL. It helped me to relax and take it week by week instead of everyday!! Thanks for being you 🙂

Oh goodness. I’m reading in Shanghai, China where it’s currently 3c and I’m freezing and wishing I had a warm blanket! What perfect timing! But seriously, my favorite posts of yours were the series on how you got to where you are today. I love stories about the journey, so I waited with baited breath for the next one to be published!

Well I have been reading your blog since before little e was born so maybe 2 years!! My favorite posts are about little e – I can’t believe how much she has grown and changed in the last year and a half. My other favorite post was about your capsule wardrobe which has inspired me to purge my closet. So one of my promises to myself for 2015 was to get my wardrobe down to a capsule and to love all the pieces in it.
    Thanks and Happy New Year!

It’s beautiful! I love all the colors. I’ve been reading your blog for about 2 years now, following along on your Project Life adventures originally, but I’m loving all the Make 29 things you been making and you actually inspired me to start knitting too once I saw all your blankets. I started about a week ago and have about 8 inches done on a scarf so I know how much time and energy goes into it. I can crochet like nobody’s business, but knitting, not so much.

I love your encouraging spirit and honesty and it’s so refreshing in a world that is so comfortable with competition and pushing others down. Bravo friend for doing your thing, going all in and being a light all at the same time. 🙂

I love so many things about your blog, but I think the main thing is that you keep it real. I appreciate that. I also love that you see magic in the little moments. Some of my fave posts are those where you show your photos taken on film. Love those.

I have read most of your posts since early 2009, except the succulent/plant related. My favorite posts lately were probably the E&e project, I love the original fun way to document and share each month of you & your little one.
Also while I am here, you said in a recent post you haven’t been focusing on documenting you & Paul in 2014. I seem to recall awhile back you did a video and a short blog post interview with your husband, would be fun if you did something like that (or some other creative thing that you come up with) again, even if wasn’t a regular project/feature but a one off thing.
Happy 2015! You are one of my favorite people (even though I don’t know you in real life) and I would be honored to get an Elise original! 🙂
