scrap yarn knit blanket

Last year, while I was knitting my 29 blankets, I knitted one extra (I think it was number 19). I didn't have enough of two yarns colors at the house and I was wanting to knit so I just started adding scrap yarn together. Of course, then I ran out of scrap yarn and had to go buy more to actually finish this blanket.

Originally, I thought I'd sell it as one of the 29 but then realized that would be so random. 28 striped blankets and then this one! This random one! #odd.

So I kept it aside and powered through the remaining blankets. And then sold them in November.

This one is still special to me though. I love the look. I love the warm color palette. I love the crazy changing yarns.

Like all the blankets, this was knit with simple back-and-forth garter stitch on size 15 needles. (I did 60 stitches per row if you want to make your own.)

Hi Elise! I’ve been reading just the past year, and wading through Archives when I have the time (because I love to see how a blogger has grown and changed over the years). I don’t have one favorite, but a catagory – Little E film-picture posts are so inspiring. Thank you! = )

    Wow, gorgeous blanket!
I’m trying to think when I first started reading. It was definitely in 2013 when you were one of the PL creative team members. I love reading all of your posts, but some of the arts/crafts are my favorite and makes me want to work on more projects (it actually became one of my new year’s resolutions this year).

Your home projects are so inspiring! I love the way that its a slow steady project and how you don’t stress about it being perfect immediately. Your blog is also one that I love to read – its never forced or staged. Love love. Cheers to a successful 2015 – shake it up/off/wildly

Love this scrap blanket! I’ve been reading your blog for about 4 years now.I was actually inspire by you to learn how to knit. My favorite post of 2014, was the one where you did the video on how to knit in the continental style. This has saved my elbow so much and I am a much faster knitter now! I actually just knitted 4 Hadley hats last week, thank you for sharing your friends pattern!

Oh my gosh what a fun giveaway!!! Ok – I have been reading your blog for about six years now. Favorite post(s) have got to be your current memory keeping installment: E&e. LOVE those monthly posts where you document your favorites along side of Ellerie’s. Thanks for a chance to win! xo

I’ve been reading since 2012 I think, & found you via Pinterest when you posted the Groucho Marx quote..
My all time favourite post is probably the ‘right now’ post where there was a picture of you at the top on the beach.. I also loved all the project life posts you did that first year, “a long ramble on staying inspired” and all the goal posts with you holding the camera and your goals listed on the side..
Okay so I’m a big fan, HUGE infact

I can’t tell you what my favorite post was from 2014 because I enjoyed so many as a whole. I did, however, find your letters to Ellerie so endearing. Made me cry every time. I’ve been reading your blog for at least three years. You are inspiring and funny and an awesome writer! Would love to see you write a book one day.
Thanks for the opportunity to win this beautiful blanket.

Thanks for the constant inspiration, both for crafting and for family.

I don’t remember how I found your blog, but I know it was pre-Project Life designer because I remember seeing that news and feeling pretty trendy that I already “knew” who you were. I can’t possibly pick a favorite post of all the ones that I’ve read since that time; the thing I love most about visiting your blog each day is the variety. Aside from the posts to your daughter, which are among the sweetest things I’ve read online, I love your perfectly imperfect approach to all things crafty and DIY. Thank you for sharing your journey, and for gifting a snuggly piece of the 2014.

Hi Elise! I’ve been following your blog for about 2 and a half years now! You were actually one of the first bloggers I started to follow. 🙂 My favorite blog from 2014 was your “Gifts for New Mamas” post. I became a mom (again) in July of 2014 and used a lot of those items that you recommended!
Oh, and btw… (I hope this isn’t weird), I named my daughter Sophia and her middle name is Elise, and I can honestly say that I got that name idea because of you! 🙂 No one in my family had ever heard of that name before, and now everyone loves it. Happy New Year! 🙂

I admire your strength, especially during the hard times, those endless days when your husband is deployed or those very early baby days, I remember mine so much too and it’s nice to see you’re not alone during these struggles.

I started reading back around the time you got married, then I drifted for a couple years then came back around the time my son arrived last February. I found your newborn experiences so familiar to my own and I found great comfort in your honesty. So thank you! And of course then I connected to all your making and wondered why I ever went away. Go Elise! I am SUPER excited for the Get To Work Book. Much love! 🙂

I’m not sure when I started reading, exactly, but I know you guys were still on the east coast- you introduced me to the magic of Paper Source and got me scrapbooking, for which I’m forever grateful. (I’m still saving one of your mini books for something special!). This blanket is so cool!! I’ve always wanted to make a scrap blanket but the orderly perfectionist in me has a lot of trouble just letting go of a color scheme and just going with it. 😉

My favorite posts are your Dear Ellerie letters. My little girl is just a few weeks older than Ellerie. You remind me to just enjoy the moment and not stress about everything, enjoy being a momma and enjoy my kiddos! In all reality, I just really love reading all of your posts, you’re a great inspiration. I have been following your blog for a long time now, probably almost 4 years I think. Thank you for sharing your life with us, and for just being so real in all that you write and share! 🙂

Thinking back, in one of your posts there’s a line that has really stayed with me. I really like it because it appears in so many of your posts last year when you are talking about being a mama and Ellerie. It goes something like this: 18 months is my favourite age. Until tomorrow then you’ll do something amazing and 18 months plus 1 day will be my new favourite.
Such a beautiful sentiment and so true!
Thanks for creating beautiful things for us to read, Elise 🙂

My favorite posts last year was “Ellerie, at 14 months”. So special to me as you posted on my sweet girls born day! A few days after my baby was born I turned to your blog to give me some relief from those crazy feed the baby, change the nappy, get the baby to sleep days. You have saved my sanity.
I enjoy all of your Ellerie posts but since becoming a mama myself your words touch me in a whole new way. You have a way of being able to put so many emotions onto paper and it is a joy to read them. Thank you for that 🙂

Hard to pick my favorite post but I think it might be the one where you started taking a roll of film of Ellerie per month. It really captures her in many interesting ways. A close second is (are) the posts about diving into knitting without fear and without delay. I would like to be making things in that sort of spirit. Thank you!
