the 30th knit blanket

Last year, while I was knitting my 29 blankets, I knitted one extra (I think it was number 19). I didn't have enough of two yarns colors at the house and I was wanting to knit so I just started adding scrap yarn together. Of course, then I ran out of scrap yarn and had to go buy more to actually finish this blanket.

Originally, I thought I'd sell it as one of the 29 but then realized that would be so random. 28 striped blankets and then this one! This random one! #odd.

So I kept it aside and powered through the remaining blankets. And then sold them in November.

This one is still special to me though. I love the look. I love the warm color palette. I love the crazy changing yarns.

Like all the blankets, this was knit with simple back-and-forth garter stitch on size 15 needles. (I did 60 stitches per row if you want to make your own.)

    I can’t remember when or how, but I think I found your blog when you were pregnant with Ellerie. As a fellow new mama (to a 16 month old girl), your posts about your sweet girl spoke to my heart and gave me a hint of what I could look forward to with my own girl.     I’ve been reading for over a year, possibly two. My favorite post was actually your series on how you got the blog to be where it is today. Your journey was inspiring!     This blanket is beautiful, Elise! While it’s difficult to choose just one favorite post, I definitely appreciate those where you focus on blogging and motivational advice (for example, “Time Spent Consuming Vs. Creating.” I’m also loving the podcasts! It’s definitely one of my favorite resources and ways to unwind during my lunch break or at the end of the day.

    I’ve been reading for about a year or two…I can’t even remember how I stumbled upon you and your little blog! I love the posts about your garden and backyard.     I look forward to my daily Elise fix…I stop what I’m doing and read your post instantly when it comes through my inbox! I have been reading for a little over 1 year. I found you thanks to Project life but have stuck around for all things knitting and crafting.
    #Creepy but I feel like we would be besties if we lived closer and I, you know…knew you in real life. We both love crafts, have kids the same age, ect.

    I’ve been reading your blog for quite a few years. Love it so refreshing! I think my favorite post is that of your birthday (we share the same day, I’m just older!). I only know one other person that has the same birthday as me so it’s kinda fun to “know” another!

It talks about the real issues of life, the everyday, not the Kodak moments that are stitched together with pretense and expectation.     Hi Elise! I would love,love,love this blanket! Let’s see, I can’t remember exactly when I started reading your blog, but it was just after you were married, I think. My favorite posts of yours are the letters you have written to Ellerie. An an older mama of 3 who are growing way too fast (16, 13 and now 10 years old), I wish I had the foresight to have done that.     Hi Elise, what a gorgeous blanket! I’ve been reading sinc early 2013, when your posts inspired me to walk a mile every day. At the time I was recovering from health problems and it was a goal that was achievable. My mile a day led onto swimming, yoga, cycling – and building up my strength again. I’ve recently been able to return to paid work which is great. So thank you for the part you played in inspiring me! Your blanket would look gorgeous in the flat I’ve moved into with my partner…! Keep knitting, it’s the best!

The posts that I have loved are actually quite recent…..they are the ones where you take a picture of something you are enjoying and put it side by side with something Ellerie is enjoying.
