The film project (offically started in October) continues!

My goal is to take one roll of Ellerie a month. Generally trying for a photo or two a day.

In my short time doing this I have learned (and re-learned) that film just brings it. It provides the magic that I can't seem to filter in (or filter out) with my digital cameras.

It's an experiment and exercise in patience every month.

And usually, it's worth it ten times over.

*I've had a Canon EOS Rebel XS since high school that I still use whenever I shoot film. I shoot with this 50mm lens. My local photo developer sticks the images on a CD for me, so these are the un-touched digital files. See more film photos here.

SO GORGEOUS! LOVE the look of good ol’ fashioned film.
…just an FYI that your lens isn’t actually linked πŸ™‚

For some reason, every picture of Ellerie & Paul melts my heart. All of these photos are so sweet and special. I also love that they aren’t edited!
On a total side note, I went back to read the way you asked your bridesmaids to be in your wedding party and it completely inspired my most recent project πŸ™‚ xo

There’s definitely something magical about these photos.
Do you get both a CD of the images and a set of prints?

I am still thinking on this…. Not Project Life. Not traditional scrapbooking. But something. I’ll share when I come up with it. πŸ™‚

Oh gosh, these are amazing, Elise!
They so capture Ellerie’s fun personality and sweet nature… plus I’m totally dying over her expression where she’s trying to get out of the bumbo! So funny πŸ™‚

I agree – film brings magic! What brand are you using, and what ISO?

She is soooo darling and you capture that so well. Loving this project and your thoughts on it- how the medium changes not only the outcome but the process (patience to not shoot the whole roll since we’re all so used to endless digital shots etc.) Totally inspired to get out my old rebel and unused film I have!

I love this activity or “challenge” to take film photos each month. There is something so special about not knowing exactly how each photo will look. I especially love the one where the sun is shinning on Ellerie’s head (6th one from the top).
