Holidaycard

This year, Minted reached out to me to see if I was interested in trying their holiday cards to send to family and friends and share here on the blog. I saw the words "foil-printing" in the email and was on board.

I selected the "cheers" card because it was simple, gorgeous and totally my style. I debated just having one photo on the front but after a mental search of my favorite photos from this year, I knew settling on one image would be impossible. So in true Elise fashion, I made up a grid in PSE of 20 images and uploaded that to Minted as a .jpg.

I love how the gold foil-printing turned out – especially on top of the grid.

On the backside, I had a few options to choose from (you can include one photo, many photos, no photo, lots of text, just a bit of text, patterns, solid colors, etc) and I decided to use just one photo and write a few sentences about our year. (Based on the single spaced, double-sided letters my family always gets, you'd be surprised that just a few sentences can usually sum it all up.)

That flamingo photo is just my favorite of little E.

I choose the speckle-tone envelopes (because colored envelopes are so excellent at holiday time) and decorated the backs with my CHEERS stamp designed for Studio Calico's Dec Daily kit and some washi tape from Freckled Fawn and Kelly Purkey for Simon Says Stamp.

The day after Thanksgiving these went out the door. I'm thrilled to have them crossed off my list.

It’s a beautiful card and I remember loving your card last year as well. You will love Christmas having a little one even more. Even though she is so little there is so much to enjoy and a bunch of lights has proven that already. Regards Kathy A, Brisbane. Australia

I wish you really knew what an inspiration you are to me (and others!), Elise. I love how simple you make even the most complicated tasks seem. And I love how creative you are with EVERYTHING! Thank you for all the DIY goodness you provide for me. And, most importantly, thank you for Just. Doing. It. whatever IT is. You make it seem possible for me to do it, too. With admiration and gratitude, Jane

Absolutely perfect! My first thought upon seeing those cute washi taped envelopes was how cute they would look in a Project Life pocket, hehe 🙂

oh, darn! Wish I had seen this a couple of weeks ago when I was just starting to think about Christmas cards. The simplicity of this is amazing. And now I know that you can get a fairly long message AND photos printed on the insides! Minted has a sale on until the end of today, I think…. will put this on my list for next year. Can you remind me in mid-November when you do your Christmas card next year? 😉

Elise, when I saw it I knew I had to make one just like yours. We don’t have Minted here in Brazil, so I had to be creative about it.
Some dear friends are moving and I had to make a card for them. Then I made a photo-grid just like yours with some pictures of their time living here and “printed” the cheers – in my card was bye – using silver vynil and Silhouette. I loved how it turned out. Hope my friends will like it too.

Recently, I did a survey on my blog to find out what else my readers love to read, and that’s how I found you! I really love how you positioned your washi tape! I always go horizontal, and it seems silly, but it never occurred to me to stick it on vertically!
