15weeks

displaying a small baby bump at 15 weeks.

so excited to see our little one moving around at my ultrasound yesterday.

hearing that heartbeat is total magic.

still reeling from the horrific events in Newtown last week.

finding this quote relevant this week (and always).

appreciating this sweet list of simple acts of kindness.

reading A Short History of Nearly Everything.

planning to start Dinner: A Love Story next.

beginning to pack for two weeks in Sacramento.

eating so many grilled cheese & ham sandwiches.

drinking so many virgin Bloody Mary's (just tomato juice, ice, fresh squeezed lemon, worchestershire sauce, hot sauce & black pepper).

lighting our Christmas tree around 4:30 every afternoon & loving the glow.

listening to the Les Miserables soundtrack everyday when I run.

making plans to see the movie.

emailing with our relator about house hunting in San Diego next month. (!!!!)

prepping projects & posts for the next few weeks.

looking forward to being up with family starting Sunday.

Do you plan to do any crafting with your weekly baby bump photos? I haven’t done much with mine yet (year and a half later…), but I’d be interested to see what you do with yours. It’s definitely fun seeing the gradual change!

I wonder the same as Shirley K — Do you have any special projects in mind for your bump photos? We have been taking them each week, and now that we’re at halfway through, I’m thinking about what I’ll actually do with them because I know once the baby comes I won’t care so much about it. Also, I wanted to say, that Dinner: A Love Story is the BEST BOOK EVER. To read, to cook from, to learn from… I read it this summer and it’s my new fave.

The list of nice things are such a lovely idea. I sometimes have goals like that for lent, instead of giving something up. Also, congratulations on your baby bump! xx

May I ask what towns in San Diego you’re considering? I’m sure you still have friends in the area, but I mostly grew up in San Diego, and we’ve settled down here now so if you need any tips on good areas, or have any questions about parts of the county you’re less familiar with, I’m happy to help another military family out!

I will be adding the photos to my PL spreads for now and my eventual plan is to create a Blurb book with various photos from pregnancy and the letters I have been writing to the baby. I hope to have it all designed and ready to go before the baby comes then just be able to drop in a few of him or her and have it printed. 🙂

The Les Mis soundtrack is the best running music. How can you not go faster when they sing “Do you hear the people sing, singing the song if angry men. It is the music of a people who will not be slaves again!” Christmas can’t come fast enough!

Oh house hunting!! Man, that sounds super exciting. Buying a house or an apartment is definitely quite different here in Germany – much more “I will stay here forever” and definitely not “I’m thinking of 5 years”. Has a lot to do with prices, I think – pretty expensive here, really. And therefore renting is different, too – you are always allowed to paint, for example, and your landlord can’t force you to paint everything white once you move out. Long story short – exciting, as it’s still pretty far away for us! And good luck of course 🙂

Congrats on your exciting baby news! You and Paul are going to be fantabulous parents….
And just so you know, I’ve always loved your “currently” verb lists…so I made my own in my post tonight with a shout-out to you, of course. Thanks, Elise!

I have been following your blog since I stumbled upon it when you were so sick…. I fell in love with your sweet spirit and courage… I have been away for a while… My life has changed with just a phone call my husband was diagnosed with cancer in Aug. Had been sick since May. The past few months I have hardly gone near my computer. His surgery is behind us… He just might be cancer free. WE will know that in a few more blood tests. I just happened to open your blog today… What did I see… A beautiful baby bump… My heart is so thankful and joyful seeing you happy and healthy. Have a beautiful Christmas.

Thank you Patrice! I am so sorry to hear about your husband. I very much hope he IS Indeed through the woods!! I think you may have me confused with someone else though… I, thankfully, have not been sick. I blogged about a case of strep throat a few years ago, but that is it. Good luck to your family. 🙂
