These weeks are flying.

I got started on my holiday book this week (for me the "Christmas" season starts when Thanksgiving ends) and I am excited to share full photos on the blog next week. I got our house decorated (which really means just a mantle, a new wreath and, of course, the tree). And perhaps most importantly, I stuck with #mileaday.

Paul and I are headed on a short road-trip today to say hello and good-bye to a friend of ours that is headed out on a work assignment for five months (not a deployment – but a government contract job, so close!). We have a lot of driving in our future, but in a new car, it's not quite as painful. I'm looking forward to a lot of chatter with Paul, a few great meals and a lot of time to think about what could be next.

Have a great weekend! Look for Project Life album updates Saturday and hopefully Sunday.

your comment reminded me of how much i used to look forward to long drives & long talks with my husband. now car trips with two kids give me anxiety! 🙂 i know i don’t have to tell you, but enjoy it while you can!

I’m glad I’m not the only one who limits the decorated to just a few simple places and calls it good. Looking forward to seeing your holiday album!

I’m usually not that excited about the holiday season early on and then I get stressed and feel like I’m super behind. This year, I’m already feeling the holiday spirit and I’m determined to get an earlier start and fully enjoy the season! I’m loving your decor and I can’t wait to see your holiday book!

    Hello…
I would love to know how you took the photo of the blurred lights? I’ve tried this on occasion and it never works, so I thought I’d ask while I was visiting your site.
I also wanted to say that I love your feet photos. After reading about your #mileaday, I thought I would try to walk for 30 minutes each day for 30 days between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Of course, I forgot that you live on the west coast and it’s cold outside here in NJ, but I think if I photograph my steps, that will motivate me even more.
Thanks for sharing your fun photos; your PL kit is on my Christmas list!

Thanks! I put my camera on manual focus and then deliberately unfocus on the Christmas lights. Easy but cool! 🙂

I love long car rides with my husband, just for the uninterrupted time to talk. I think we have the best conversations that way.
Safe travels this weekend! Enjoy your time with Paul and your friends!

Hello! I love your quilt piece! i am a scrapper and was a quilter until it got in the way of scrapbooking, but always admire another’s work, because it is a work of art.
