Like everyone else, I am still Instagramming my life away. Above are some favorites from the past month or so and below are some "tips" and my favorite filters.

one : pick a bonus focus. I share everything, but I love having a few hashtags to rely on to get my camera out and keep me thinking. #patternaday is still going almost daily. And it's less prolific best friend #textaday gets used about twice a week.

two : use TimerCam. I'm obsessed with this simple app that gives my iPhone a five second self timer. Awesome for fun angles and hand shots.

three : amaro & valencia are my favorite filters and 99% of the time are my go-tos. I never use frames because without them, the photos have more versatility later when I pull them onto the blog or into Project Life.

I think I am the last person on earth to be without an IPhone or Instagram. Pretty sure my grandma has it on her cell 😉 Love the pics and filter choices! Lovely!

Agreed… amaro is my number one go to, pretty much the only one I use, and valencia would be second. I started out using the borders, but you’re right, you can do so much more with the photos after when you don’t have the border attached.

valencia is my favorite followed by rise and i stop with borders as well 🙂 nowadays i edit my pics in vsco cam (my most fav app. takes some practice, but it gives pics a film look to it) & then bring it into instagram.

I have been meaning to try the timer more often, but I keep forgetting, haha. I love the pictures you take with it. I’ve stopped using frames too. My favorite filters are sierra, walden + valencia. ♥

I know what you mean about the borders… sometimes I take the photo with my iphone camera and then retrieve it through Instagram so I can manipulate it and add a border if I want. Nice to have the option of the true, original photo saved – especially for blogging and project life purposes.
And I’m just now starting with hashtags… my main one is #lookingdownnow.
Fun to group photos with hashtags.
One more thing… thanks so much for tipping me off to TimerCam… it’s great to finally get in photos with my family. So awesome. thank you!!

I always love your Instagram photos! Oddly, I never think to not use the default frames, but I should try that. I also really need to get a timer app.

Instagram is by far one of my favorite apps! I actually like some of the frames like early bird – but I usually just use the same filter for the same “series” of photos.

Thanks for the tip about the timer app!! I started taking all my pics with the regular camera… then opening them in instagram — preserves my original copy and then instagram saves the edited version. I like it better that way! 🙂
