40 pizzas / colorful combo.

pizza no. 6 : colorful combo.

occasion : we made this before we went out of town for five days. It was an effort to clear the fridge of some leftover meat (pepperoni & turkey sausage) and green onion.

crust : our whole wheat usual.

sauce : for this one, we used a jar of red sauce from Williams Sonoma. We'll be sharing our homemade red sauce soon!

cheese : yellow cheddar.

toppings : cooked & sliced turkey sausage, pepperoni (cut into small triangles), black olives, green onion.

thoughts : some of our pizzas have well thought out themes, some are just use what we have. This is definitely in the later category. But it's pizza – whatever you throw on it will taste good.

**and for my US friends, happy 4th! We're so excited for a day off, sunshine & fireworks.

    Inspired by your pizzas (todays post look great too) we made homemade ones yesterday.. Red pizza sauce, cheddar , mozzarella , Parmesan with artichoke heart, cherry tomatoes halved, Spanish onion and chorizo sausage sliced… It was soooo good. Thanks for a great blog series…. We’re going to try your homemade base next time.

    This pizza sounds awesome! I love turkey and green onions and pepperoni is like my favourite pizza topping! I love meals when you just toss leftovers in though… We do that with omelettes a lot, just use any leftover vegies we have. They’re usually the best omelettes, too!

    You guys are going to be pro pizza makers after this. If you ever get sick of your current gig, you could open a gourmet pizza food cart. The world needs more of those.

    I love your 40 pizzas and can’t wait to try some of them! Here’s my fave: pesto base topped with shrimp, sundried tomatoes & feta cheese with a squeeze of lemon. Thought you might like since you love pesto!

    I love what you are doing here! Loved the 40 breads and, now, pizzas! Excellent! I was wondering, would you ever consider doing a “deep dish” Chicago-style pizza? If so, how would you go about? My sister lives in Chicago and I’m in love with the crust!
